Up Up and Away!

Goodness we have had some glorious weather here in the UK in the last week or so, beautiful and sunny. I hope it lasts!

I find the blue skies make me a little day dreamy and I often think about just floating away, which reminded me I had not yet shared these cards with you. I made 30 of these cards a little while ago to swap with other demos and to send to a lovely group of ladies I met recently.

I love to watch hot air balloons, I think they are so pretty, so when I saw the New All For Friends Hostess Stamp Set I could not wait to get my hands on the hot air balloon stamp (well and all the others if I am telling the truth!) You can earn this stamp set for free if you host a party with qualifying sales – contact me bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk to find out how.

Here I coloured the stamps with my watercolour wonder crayons and then added some sparkle with my shimmer paints. The punched out images were layered onto More Mustard card and then stamped a greeting from the Cheers and Wishes set. This was mounted onto a square of Designer Series Paper from the Sweet Pea Stack. I have inked around the edges to soften them and add some extra texture. The Sweet Pea Stack really is a stack which keeps on and on giving not only paper but great colour inspiration – I thought I had used loads of it but I still have loads left. There are 48 Sheets of double sided paper in the stack which costs just £19.50 and that works out at just 40p per sheet. If you would like to order some before the stocks run out please get in touch.

I added a length of the scrummy Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon and mounted everything onto a Whisper White card base.

Thank you for stopping by

More May Birthdays

I think I mentioned that May sees rather a lot of birthday cards leave this house. Today I am going to share another batch of four I made.

I am still unable to resist the new colours from Stampin’ Up! and here I matched Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo with Tempting Turquoise, Not Quite Navy and More Mustard and stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I love how rich and luxurious the colours look together.

I have used the wonderful Circle Circus Stamp Set and the greeting is from Wow Flowers.  I added some beautiful dotty ribbon and the flowers were made using the Boho Flowers Punch.

And that is not the last of the May Birthdays! However I think you deserve a brief respite from them so check back in a couple of days for some non birthday cards.

Wonder Class

As well as being the closing night of the play I directed, Last Saturday was my monthly card class. I really enjoy these classes and look forward to seeing the ladies each time. This month we also had a couple of newcomers, the wonderful Becki from my team and her lovely hubby Alan. Today I am going to show you the cards we made this month.

We used the Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set and an assortment of inks. I could not resist featuring the new colours! Everyone stamped all over a sheet of Whisper White Card which we then glittered and cut up to make these 8 cards.

And here they all are in a bit more detail.

You can find out more about my monthly classes here – hope to see you in class soon.

Stamp with Us Sunday

Well it’s Sunday so time for another Stamp With Us Challenge and this week it’s a sketch challenge. Now it’s been a while since I scrapped and when I saw this sketch I knew straight away I wanted to make a layout using it.

Here is the sketch

And here is my layout.

One of the things I look forward to as spring settles into being here is the Wisteria coming out. I adore these beautiful flowers and most years take more pictures of them than I probably should! As well as being beautiful these flowers tell me that summer and sunshine really are on their way. Our Wisteria has only really just bloomed in the last week or so. I know it is important to plan ahead and at about the same time the Wisteria bloomed I was invited to the first meeting about next year’s panto! It seems very early to be thinking about something which is so closely associated with winter – this year’s panto was quite disrupted by all the snow – what a contrast to the lovely weather we are having at the moment!

The layout just documents this contrast. I have used a sheet of patterned papers from the Sweet Pea Stack as my base. The photo is mounted on some Chocolate Chip Card and the a layer of Almost Amethyst which has been stamped using the Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set in Almost Amethyst and Lavender Lace. This was then covered in Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint. I have also used some of the delicious Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and made my journaling block using the Frames with Flourishes Stamp Set. I finished off the page with three flowers made by rocking and rolling the Vintage Vogue flower. I stamped and cut out two images for each flower and added a yellow rhinestone brad to the centre of each to mirror the colours in the Wisteria.

I enjoyed making this and hope it inspires you to use the sketch. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the team’s creations.

Inspired by one Julie, created for another

Recently my good friend Jules had some stunning three fold cards on her blog so when I was thinking about a special card for another special Julie for a special birthday, I decided to give one of them a go. It was a lot of fun to make and I am pleased to say that Julie loved it.

I am loving the new Melon Mambo colour, and finding it hard to craft with anything else so, knowing Julie is not adverse to pinks and purples decided to use it as the base for this card. I took a sheet of Very Vanilla and using the wonderful Circle Circus Stamp Set covered it with images in Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard and Orchid Opulence. I added shimmer to the whole sheet using the Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint. This was added to the first and third panels of the card. For the middle panel I wanted a contrasting pattern so I used images from the All For Friends Hostess Stamp Set and a combination of Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo Inks. I also coloured in some of the images using a blender pen. Some of the scrummy polka dot ribbon and a couple of embellishments noting the occasion and this card was almost done.

Julie loves to read so the back of the middle panel seemed to be an ideal place to add a bookmark made from the left over card.

Just in case Julie is looking at this you will have noticed I have not mentioned the number at all – but we all had a wonderful night out celebrating with her.

More birthday cards soon and don’t forget to look out for the next Stamp with Us Challenge on Sunday.

May seems to be the month for Birthdays!

Hello blog

Remember me? Goodness things have been hectic, as I mentioned in my last post I have been busy with the theatre and due to a few shall we call them challenges (since I think its best to be polite!) its been a bumpy week or so. Still the curtain has gone up on our first performances of the Importance of Being Earnest and so far the audiences are loving it. I even managed to get some SU product onto the stage – in about 4 places - if you come and see it and can spot what it is I would love to know!

Anyway the other thing that makes May a busy month for me is Birthdays – I seem to know a lot of people with May birthdays. Today I am going to share a batch of four male birthday cards I made for some of the male birthdays this month. They should by now have all been received so it’s safe to share! A couple of these went out with ages on them but in order to protect the innocent I am not going to tell you what the ages were!!!

I love this balloon from the Crazy for Cupcakes set – it always seems to me to be very happy. Here I have stamped it onto papers from the amazing sweet pea paper stack – a huge bunch of the most delicious papers, and mounted them on coordinating card. The colours are Taken with Teal and Pumpkin Pie. I love the vibrancy of this colour combination.

I will be back with more birthday cards, featuring the new colours in the next couple of days so please check back soon

Stamp with Us Sunday

Hello everyone

Happy Sunday! Sorry I have not been around very much this week - I have been indulging my other passion, theatre recently and am directing The Importance of Being Earnest at the Little Theatre in Dunstable. The show opens next Friday so things are somewhat hectic at the moment, in fact as you read this I will be at the theatre working on the set. I wonder how much SU product I can incorporate!

Anyway being Sunday you know what it is time for ... A Stamp With Us Challenge and this week its an inspiration picture challenge, with this picture I love – it just makes me think of Summer.
I usually really enjoy these challenges and these are not colours I would typically reach for together so I decided to take not just the colours but some of the other design elements from the picture too.

The background card is Sahara Sand and I have stamped the backgrounds layer with Whisper White Craft ink and then mounted it onto some Glorious Green. Some lush Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and some light inking of the edges and my background was ready for three tags, one in YoYo Yellow, one in Ballet Blue and one in Real Red. I have inked the edges of the coloured layers with a little Whisper White. I have stamped each cake in the coordinating ink and then used my markers to add a little colour. The stamps are from the adorable All For Friends Set, one of the new Hostess Stamp Sets that you can earn by having a Stampin' Up! Party.

Now it seems to be the law of my craft desk that you must use shimmer paint on every project so for this card I used some Frost White Shimmer paint to colour the cakes. I mixed this with some ink from the lids of my ink pads to colour the top sections – shimmer paint in whatever colour I want! Brilliant.

You can find the rest of the talented Design Team’s cards here and I hope you will try this challenge too
