Continuing with Christmas!

Happy Monday everyone! Here is to the start of a new week.

Yesterday’s theme challenge from Stamp With Us was Christmas and I shared with you my Snowman Shaker Box Stage. I also promised to show you a simpler card made with the same supplies. So here it is.

The stamp set is Flaky Friends which is only available until the end of September so if you want it don’t forget to place your order for it soon. Check here to see how you could get a free ink pad of your choice if you order a bundle of products including this stamp set from me. The paper used is from the Ski Slope pack – and I think this is my favourite sheet from the pack but I do keep changing my mind on that! The card is Real Red and the snowmen are coloured with Real Red, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.

I will be sharing more Christmas projects with you this week – and some sneak peaks of the cards we will be making at the Get Ready For Christmas Party this weekend. It feels a bit odd to be thinking about Christmas before my birthday but it makes it the perfect time for gifts so please check back for more offers and ways to get gifts in this my Birthday Gift Giving Month

All the world's a Stage

And all the snowmen merely players!

Welcome to this Sunday’s Stamp With Us Challenge. The theme of this week’s challenge is Christmas. Two of my favourite Stampin’ Up! Christmas products are the lovely snowmen from the Flaky Friends Stamp Set and the delicious Ski Slope Papers so I got these two things out in an attempt to bring a little Christmas to my craft table.

Then I started to play...

And this is what I came up with – Presenting on their own stage, complete with snow – My Flaky Friends!
The snowmen were stamped and coloured with my Stampin’ Write Markers and then sealed into shaker box – so you can shake it up and make it snow. The box was made with paper from the Ski Slope pack and covered with a Cello bag after a good dollop of Dazzling Diamonds had been added – be careful when you do this if you don’t want glitter all over your craft space! The snowmen are fixed in the middle of the box so the snow can go either side of them.
This was then mounted onto a folded piece of Real Red Card, which has been scored to allow the Shaker box to stand up along the front. Ribbon tied underneath keeps the back upright. This was decorated with more papers, the rows of hanging mittens and some real Red Ribbon. Now hopefully this project has made you smile but I have some sad news. This Stamp Set is only available until the end of September and the Ski Slope Papers may also retire then too so be sure to place your orders for them soon.
To get you smiling again I do have some good news too - if you were to order Flaky Friends , the Ski Slope Papers , two packs of coordinating coloured card stock (Real Red, Old Olive, Night of Navy or Chocolate Chip) and a pack of Whisper White Card you would qualify for this month’s Ribbon Bundle Offer. Details here. As an added gift from me if you order this bundle from me I will give you a free full sized ink pad of your choice. After post and packing this bundle which would give you enough to make at least 75 Christmas Cards would cost you £48.90

I had a lot of fun making this project . Now those of you who are hoping that you are on my Christmas card list – don’t panic – I don’t plan on sending glitter bombs like this through the post! Tomorrow I will share with you another more post friendly Christmas card, using the same supplies.

Little Bits of Fun

Today I am going to show you something a little different – well a little different for me anyway!

Those of you who are taking the current round of Stamp With Us classes may have seen a picture of a new addition to my craft space – a cute three tiered cake stand where each layer is a handy sized basket. I love it, but what they will also have seen is a very very very full scrap basket behind it. Today I decided to do something about it and rather than just tidying it all into my general card and paper stock I decided to make a project that only uses these scraps. I also challenged myself only to use the stamp sets that I currently had out.

I decided to make some Artists Trading Cards or ATC’s – these cute little cards are 2.5 x 3.5 inches and I can now confidently say a lot of fun to make. The stamp sets I had out were Live your Dreams and Happiness Always. The colours I have used include Real Red, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow and Elegant Eggplant. I am going to Stamparama in Stevenage tomorrow so will take these with me to see if there are any swaps going on or if anyone would like one, so if you are there make sure you say hello. I am quite excited to show you my project for Stamp With Us tomorrow so I will schedule it to post while I am out so you don’t have to wait too late! As soon as I have done that I am off to play with more scraps and make some more ATC’s and I may even allow myself some different stamps!

Free Ribbon!

Yesterday some rather lovely ribbon arrived, not only is it gorgeous but it is all the more special as it was free! There were two fantastic reels just like those in the picture below. Click here to find out how you can get some for free too.

I am not quite sure where today went but I did manage to get time to make two quick cards. Well one card in two colour ways but both using the Do Saffron Ribbon – I just adore it. I also wanted to show you how different the same card looks with two different coloured backgrounds.
The colours used for both cards are So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Natural Ivory. This first one has So Saffron as its base. The stamp sets are Live your Dreams and One of a Kind.

Next the same card but on an Always Artichoke base.
Which one do you prefer?

Monica's More Mustard Challenge

Last night there was a live chat as part of the Stamp With Us Summer Class. After we had talked about shoes, chocolate and even nude men on beaches, Monica set the us all a card making challenge. Probably a good thing! I really enjoy doing these challenges as you only have a little time (in this case just over an hour) and you try things you would not otherwise try.

Monica challenged us to use More Mustard, the purple or lilac of our choice, a third colour and a neutral. We had to make our own patterned paper and make a card with at least four layers. Now while I love to make patterned paper I very seldom have four layers on my cards and as for mixing purple and mustard – that was new for me!

To make it even more exciting Monica offered a prize to the five entries her hubby liked the most. Now I have never met him but I always knew he was lovely (after all he is married to Monica) but now I am more sure than before as he picked my card as one of the winners – Thank you Pete – Love you X

So do you want to see it?
Colours used were More Mustard, Sage Shadow, Almost Amethyst and Whisper White. The stamps are Soft Summer, Scratched, Polka Dot and One of a Kind. I used the two background stamps and the small flower from One of a Kind to make the background paper. The Main image is from Soft Summer and it is coloured with inks and a blender pen. The flowers were stamped and coloured a second time and added with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I hope you like it as much as Pete did!

Party Animals

Today I am going to share with you the projects we made at the Party on Monday. The hostess had requested that we use the Forrest Friends Stamp Set. Now since I love this stamp set this was more than fine with me! I was also asked to use the Stampin’ Pastels – now I don’t really know why but I don’t use these very often. Each time I do I fall back in love with them. Don’t forget if you buy the Stampin’ Pastels from me this month you will get six free Sponge Daubers as my gift to you.

The box is made of Certain Celery Card, with the tree stamp from this adorable set stamped around the sides. The little rabbit was made using the popping pastels technique. The image is stamped with Versamark ink and then the pastels are tapped lightly over the top with a sponge.
The card used lots of different colouring mediums. The deer were stamped first using some rocking and rolling, the front one being stamped first and then masked. The trees were coloured with the Stampin Write Markers using Close to Cocoa, Certain Celery and Pretty in Pink. I think the card needs a greeting and some of the ladies added one from the Oval All Set - I just did not get round to it as I was so busy chatting!

The sky was created using the Stampin’ Pastels and a scalloped circle. The shape was punched out and then the Pastels were rubbed around part of the edge. The shape was then moved and more colour added to give the effect of clouds. The sky was coloured with Bashful Blue and the grass with a mixture of Certain Celery and Close to Cocoa. The corners of the card were rounded before it was mounted on its base.

If you would like a party with the chance to try a stamp set or a new technique please get in touch.

August Birthdays

I have a lot of birthdays to celebrate this month and three of them were celebrated over the last three days. I wanted to make sure that each birthday girl had a card which included colours she loves and which I hope would make her smile. Here is the card I came up with.
Two of the girls love purple so their card was made using Elegant Eggplant and Almost Amethyst. The third loves pinks so I also made a version in pink using Regal Rose and Bordering Blue.
The stamps used are Crazy for Cupcakes, and the butterflies come from Live your Dreams and the hostess set Happiness Always.

Here is a close up of the cupcakes – well you have to have cake on your birthday now don’t you! The cupcakes are coloured using the blender pens and coordinating inks along with so So Saffron for a vanilla icing. I can’t wait to get my free So Saffron Ribbon – I love that colour!

Happy Birthday Ladies – hope you all had wonderful days. Let me know if your birthday is in August – I would love to send you a card

You Colour My World!

As some of you know August is my Birthday month and I want to share my celebrations with you all. When the sun shines (yes I do still remember that just!) August can be a very colourful month so I have put together four very colourful offers for you which are only available from me and involve some free gifts for you. Why four offers – well it has to do with my age, but I am not admitting to that here!

The colourful Birthday offers are

Watercolour Wonder Crayons
Well given all the rain we have been having I had to start with this one! If you buy all 5 packs of Watercolour Wonder Crayons (page 67) I will give you a StazOn ink pad and some StazOn cleaner. This combination will allow you to use your new Watercolour Wonder Crayons with a wet brush (or aqua painter brush on page 85) a blender pen or direct to your stamp. Since these crayons can be blended with differing amounts of water they give you an unlimited variation in shades

Stampin’ Write Markers
Buy all four sets of Stampin’ Write Markers and you will not only have 48 high quality marker pens but also a horizontal storage case to keep them in. With these markers you can colour onto your card or your stamps (allowing multi coloured images), you can also use them to watercolour or with a blender pen. If you purchase all four sets during August I will give you a StazOn Ink Pad, Stazon Cleaner, A Black Stampin’ Write Journaler and a White Gel Pen.

These first two offers will of course also qualify for two reels of exclusive, not available to purchase free ribbon from Stampin’ Up! See this post here for details

Stampin’ Spots
These mini ink pads are a great way to get an ink pad in each of the Stampin’ Up! Colours. If during August you buy two or more sets of Stampin’ Spots I will give you either a Basic Black or Basic Grey Ink Pad for free. If you order three of the Stampin’ Spot Sets you will qualify for the free ribbon from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Pastels
These artistic quality pastels come in a sturdy case and come with applicators. If you order these from me this month I will give you six sponge daubers for free.

Please contact me to place your orders

There is still plenty of time to enter the Stampin’ Up! Summer Design Challenge – details here – and win yourself some great prizes – both from SU and from me. Hopefully the colourful offers above will get you in the mood.

Anyway I have to dash – I am off to see a lovely group of crafty ladies and to help one of them celebrate her birthday, so I have some special treats in store for them! I will be back to share some of them with you later

Its Sunday and that means its time to say ...

Welcome to this week’s Stamp With Us Challenge. Its sketch week and normally I love doing the sketch challenges but I found this one hard until I got going! The rest of the design team have made some stunning cards so make sure you check them out.

So here is the sketch
And my interpretation of it. One of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! is how the ribbons coordinate properly with the card and the ink, before SU I hardly used ribbons as I could not find ones that matched well enough for my liking. This card plays with ribbons – a lot! In there you have the Chocolate Chip Double Stitched Ribbon, the Chocolate Chip 5/8 Grosgrain and More Mustard and Chocolate Chip ¼ Grosgrain. The card colours are More Mustard, Chocolate Chip and Natural Ivory.

The ¼ Grosgrain has been woven together – I really enjoyed doing this and love the textured look it gives. The flower was made using the More Mustard DSP and a scallop circle punch.

Hope you like it!

PS: Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for some very special birthday gifts from me to you .

PPS: I have just worked out that if you were to purchase all the items used to make this card from me you would qualify for a free bundle of ribbons (see the post below).

August is the month for Gifts

August is my birthday month and I want to do everything I can to make sure it is a month full of gifts – and not just for me!

It seems that even Stampin’ Up! want to do their bit and make sure that lots of gifts are given too. From today until 31 August they are giving everyone who spends £45 a free gift – two reels of ribbon and in delicious colours, the scrummy So Saffron and the cool Certain Celery. These ribbons are not available to buy and you can only get them when you place a qualifying order. And that is not all – if you are the hostess of a party of £300 or more you will also get a free ribbon bundle. Here is a picture of them ... Contact me as soon as possible to place your qualifying order or to book a workshop. Here is the leaflet telling you all about it.
There are lots of ways you can qualify for this wonderful gift and through this month I will share just some of them with you so make sure you check back from time to time to see how – and quite possibly some more special offers!

In fact on Monday I will be sharing four exclusive and very colourful special offers, involving more free gifts from to you. Tomorrow I will be back with a card for the Stamp With Us Challenge.

In the meantime happy crafting
