Stamp With Us Sunday

Hello everyone – remember me? I am sorry its been a while since I last posted but I hope normal service will be resumed shortly, with there being posts at least three times a week so please do keep checking back.

Today is Sunday and I have had a wonderful weekend so far, spending it with some fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. I will tell you all about it in another post, as now I want to share with you my Stamp with Us Card for this week. I say card but actually this week it is cards!

The challenge this week is one of my favourite types of challenges – a colour challenge. Here is the inspiration picture – how fun is this! I am a touch behind on my card making so decided to combine this challenge with a quick way of making multiple cards which I want to share with you now. With Christmas on the horizon many of us are thinking about bulk card production and this design can easily be adapted for Christmas Card production – over the next few posts I will show you how.
I started with a blank sheet of Whisper White Card Stock and then randomly stamped images from the new Animal Stories Stamp Set all over. To make it a bit more interesting I used two colours on each image, using the rock and roll technique – I love how this gives each animal a bit more depth. The colours I used are (take a deep breath!) Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue, Certain Celery, Garden Green and Close to Cocoa.
Next I cut the sheet into 8 equal strips (ie I cut it in A6 quarters and then cut each quarter in half to make two strips that would be the width of m finished card. I then cut similar sized strips from Certain Celery Card and punched a decorative edge into them with the new Eyelet Boarder Punch – I LOVE LOVE LOVE this punch and I think you may be seeing a lot more of it! I made sure I did not throw away the long off cut strip as it is one of the elements on the cards.

I used one of the stamps from Circle Circus as a background stamp on my card base (stamped with Not Quite Navy on Not Quite Navy) This set is so versatile I think you will see that quite often too!
The cards were then assembled, and the eight cards were done and I had only used 6 sheets of card.

I hope you like them. Dont forget to check out the rest of the design team's cards - they are fantastic as ever. I hope you also decide to have a go at this challenge yourself - its always great to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting

Bekka
