Scrapbook Saturday - Top Note Tags

Welcome to the very last day of Sale-a-Bration and today I am going to show you some Top Note Dies which have been decorated using Sale-a-Bration Products.

Recently I visited a lovely group of ladies, some of whom are Scrapbookers and some of whom are card makers.  I wanted to make sure the project we made would be something they all could use and this is what I came up with.

Here is the Top Note used as a journalling block on a Scrapbook Page

Find Out About Friday - How to cut exactly where you want with your Big Shot Dies

Before I share a simple way to position your Big Shot Dies to cut exactly where you want to cut, I wanted to remind you that Sale-a-Bration finishes tomorrow so if you have not placed your qualifying order yet email it to bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk NOW!

Recently I wanted to use my Big Shot Circles Die to cut out an image I had coloured.  Due to the design of the dies it is not easy to know where its going to cut.

To position my image so it cut exactly where I wanted I taped a piece of card over the top of my die, fixing it with tape along one side.  Next I ran the die, with the card attached through the Big Shot.
How to position your Big Shot Dies to cut exactly where you want
Then to position my image I slipped it under the cut card 'windows' I had created. I was then able to move it around until it was exactly where I wanted, before running it through the Big Shot Again for a perfectly cut out image.
How to position your Big Shot Dies to cut exactly where you want

This technique would work well for any of the Big Shot Dies and is great fir cutting out shaped photos for scrapbooking as well as images for cards.

I hope you have found today's tip useful

Everybunny Easter Card

This card features the lovely Bunny in a Hot Air Baloon.  I have coloured it with my Watercolour Wonder Crayons and a Blender Pen, a great combination for colouring in.

The clouds were made by inking around the edge of a scallop oval shape, and moving it every few scallops to give this light effect.

Just 5 days to get your FREE Sale-a-Bration Products - A Sale-a-Bration Project with Hearts

Today I am going to share a couple of cards I designed with one of my team for her first Stampin' Up! Party.  She is very excited about it and I can totally understand why!  Stampin' Up! Parties are a lot of fun, you get to see and try some of the wonderful Stampin' Up! Hello Fresh Vintage!

Today I am going to share a card with you that features three different Sale-a-Bration products.  I know Sale-a-Bration is almost over but you do still have time to get your free stamps and papers.
Hello Fresh Vintage Sale-a-Bration Card

This card features the large image from the Fresh Vintage Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set which I have coloured with my Stampin' Write Markers. This coordinates beautifully with the papers from the Everyday Enchantment Pack.  The background layer has been stamped with the fantastic En Francais Background Stamp and the main greeting is from the Elementary Elegance Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set.  I love how all the Sale-a-Braiton choices complement each other.

You can earn one Sale-a-Bration choice for every £45 you spend, so for example if you were to order a complete set of Stampin' Write Markers and any one other thing you would earn two Sale-a-Bration items.  But you need to do this before Sale-a-Bration finishes next Saturday so email your order now to bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Scrapbook Saturday - Early Morning at Disneyland Paris

Last year we went to Disneyland Paris for the European Stampin' Up! Convention.  What an amazing place - it was the first time I had been and I hope it will not be the last.  There was so much to see and so little time!  I think one of my favorite times to look across the lake towards the park was early in the mornings.  Even in November the light was beautiful and the day seemed full of possibility.
Early Morning Disneyland Paris

This page features the wonderful Everyday Enchantment Sale-a-Bration Papers.  The balloon and its reflection are not the only round things in the photo and I have tried to take that theme through the whole page, from my choice of papers, to the Very Vanilla circles on the top portion of the page.  I have covered everything except the photo with a think layer of glimmer using the Champagne Shimmer Paint to pick up on the magical quality of the place.

I am loving working with these papers and if you want some for yourself you have just one week to get hold of them!  They can be yours with an order of £45 or more so email your order to bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk but don't leave it too long - I would hate for you to miss out!

Find Out About Friday - How to make Ric Rac using your Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Punch

I have had an idea for a card floating round in my head for a while but when I made it, I found I needed something Stampin' Up! dont currently offer in the UK - Ric Rac.  Never one to be stopped by a little thing like that I decided to make my own Ric Rac using my Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Punch.

By the time I had made my first piece of Ric Rac I was actually quite pleased that I was not being limited to a few colours as by making my own I can have any colour, any pattern and any width of Ric Rac I want!

So for this week's Find Out About Friday I thought I would share the card that has been floating round in my head and how to make your own Ric Rac using a Scallop Edge Punch.

First the card.
Butterfly Card with Ric Rac Made with a Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Punch

It just did not look right with a straight piece of patterned paper, or ribbon across the front - it really needed the Ric Rac.
Ric Rac Made with a Scallop Edge Punch

It was really very easy to make - Its probably more complicated to describe than it is to actually do!.  Start with a strip of paper or card, mine was half an inch wide and scallop one side.  I found it helped if I started my scallops with the end of the strip lined up with the dip between scallops.

Next turn the strip around and put the flat side into the punch.  Carefully line the strip up so that the end of one complete scallop is in the middle of the bump of the next scallop, so that you are punching half a scallop along.  Its probably easier to show you in this picture.
How to make Ric Rac with a Scallop Edge Punch

Once you have punched along your strip it should look like this
How to make Ric Rac with a Scallop Edge Punch

and be ready to use - like this!
Ric Rac made with a Scallop Edge Punch

There is a growing trend for Ric Rac and I am glad that with my Scallop Edge Punch I can now add my customised Ric Rac to any project I like!

If you enjoyed today's tip for getting more from your punches make sure you are signed up for my newsletter - I have an Easter Project which makes use of punches exclusively for subscribers.  To subscribe just pop your email address in the box at the top right hand side of this blog - its totally free and you will get two email newsletters a month with tips, tricks, special offers and exclusive subscriber projects.

Everything Eleanor Birthday Card

I have loved the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set since I first got it in Prague and it is one of my most reached for stamp sets.  If ever I am not sure where to start with a card (and yes that happens to me too!) this is one of the stamp sets that unlocks it for me.
Everything Eleanor Birthday Card

I made the cards I am sharing today a little while ago, but both are now safely with new owners so I can share them with you too!
Everything

The flowers have been cut out and shaped before being covered with Shimmer Paint.  Got to love a bit of sparkle. The cards are basically the same but with a change of accent colour and what a difference that change makes! Both cards have a Pool Party base and feature the First Edition Papers. The one above then has Rich Razzleberry as its accent colour while the one below has Island Indigo.

Everything Eleanor Birthday Card
If you would like to add Everything Eleanor to you collection email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk.  If there are more things you want to order why not combine them up while you can benefit from Sale-a-Braion ...
