For this week's Find Out About Friday I thought I would give you a tour of my craft room. I have wanted a dedicated craft room for as long as I can remember and when I moved I finally had the space. Well a space that needed a lot of work. Like the rest of the house. During the renovations it also doubled as a storage area but finally I have it sorted out.
I do still need to add some decorative touches, but I already love the space. The room has a lovely big window and lots of lovely light. I have daylight spot lights in the ceiling so the light is always good. Here is a quick video showing you round.
As you come through the door you find my 12x12 paper storage unit, especially designed by the lovely Colin the Builder who did all the work renovating my home. There is room for some of my work in progress albums on the top then shelves for the paper. At the bottom there is suspension filing for 12x12 papers - I love this and it means my patterned paper is much more usable. Next to it is my big shot and all my dies and embossing folders. They are both the other side of the room to make sure I don't just sit down all day!
The wall of baskets stores just about all my crafting supplies and makes them really easy to get to. As you get closer to my desk you get to the stamps, inks and other colouring things that I use most often. All the way underneath this is a work surface which gets used a lot for kit prep as well as for crafting!
This is the inky corner! Everything is in easy reach of where I work and it is all the things I use almost every day. Behind the ink carosel are baskets with projects in progress, my Stampin' Scrub, my clear stamp blocks and then things like adhesives, snips and paper folders. If you have watched the video you will know about the other fun thing in this corner!
Above them is another wall of baskets - this one filled mostly with embellishments, ribbons, rhinestones and other pretty things. Underneath the desk is a file cabinet of paper work and my trimmer lives between it and the counter - easy to grab when I need it.
The big filing cabinet next to it opens towards the desk and holds my A4 card stock and scraps are in the middle two draws, each colour having its own suspension file.
