Halloween Week - How to Make Paper Treat Cones

Back in 2010 I shared an advent project with some of my lovely customers that was made up of pretty cones and I had forgotten all about it and how much fun it was to make until I saw it hanging up and still looking great at one of their houses last Christmas.  I remember thinking how fun they would be as cones to fill with pop corn on a movie night, or with sweets at a candy bar.

What better time of year to have a candy bar than at a Halloween Party!  Most of these cones were made using a piece of paper measuring 6x6 inches.  The large one, which would be great as a popcorn bucket or to serve other treats in was made using a 12x12 sheet.

These are easy to make and you could get the whole family involved in doing them.

You fold the square in half diagonally, then open it out again.  Take each side into the middle and form a kite shape as shown.  Fold over the top.  Add your adhesive and stick the cone together so the two back pieces overlap.

For a party you might want to leave them quite plain and let the gorgeous papers do all the work but that does not mean you can't decorate them ...

Have fun making your treat cones and be sure to check back tomorrow for another project you might want to try if you are having a Halloween Party.
