Christmas Card Inspired By Some Modern Art

I recently saw a lovely piece of modern art in a coffee shop and have spent the time since then wishing I had taken its photo!  It also inspired me to make this card.
The effect under the star was inspired entirely by the picture, but does not have the texture that the oil paints layered up on canvas did.
To create this effect I masked off the top of the card and then used daubers to pull colour down the card.
I have layered up lots of different blues here and also added some gold by taking some of the ink from my Gold Wink Of Stella pen and putting it on a dauber.
This technique seemed to work best when there was not too much ink on my daubers, it was a lot of fun and not as messy as I expected it to be!  I have several other backgrounds made this way so you will be seeing more of this technique.  I hope you like it.
