For this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to share 3 things you can do with your Clear Mount Blocks from Stampin' Up!, but before I do I thought I would tell you a little about them.
The Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks come in 9 different sizes and are made of a very sturdy crystal clear acrylic. They are easy to hold thanks to the comfortable curved groove on each side. I have always loved the way a wood mount stamp feels in the hand and these blocks are the closest I have come to that. To mount your stamp on them you place it stamping side down on your grid paper or stamping surface and take the block to the stamp pressing down with firm even pressure. Its easy to choose which block to use as all stamp images in the Stampin' Up! Catalogue are shown at full size and once you have the stamps at home they are also shown at full size on the front of the case. Each block has is etched with a letter representing its size and for easy identification. There is also a great storage caddy available.
So now that you know a little about them, what can you do with the Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - well of course you can stamp with them but today I am going to share three more things you can do with your Clear Mount Blocks.
By mounting more than one stamp on your block at a time you can stamp several images at the same time and ensure that they are always in the same place relative to each other. This is particularly useful if either you are in a hurry (and lets face it we all have last moment cards to do from time to time!) or you want to make a batch of cards. I have used 3 stamps together on one block to make this announcement card.
Ink up your block as if it was a stamp and you get this interesting background effect - great for one layer cards or cards you want to keep as flat as possible. This is especially important for cards you want to post if you want to avoid the large letter charges.
Scribble some colour onto your Clear Mount Block with a Stampin' Write Marker or drop on a couple of drops of ink and you have a great pallet ready to use with either a Blender Pen or a Waterbrush. You can see exactly how much ink you are picking up and its easy to clean off afterwards. To clean your block you can either just wipe it with a kitchen towel or soft cloth or run it under a tap.
I hope you have fun trying some of these uses for the Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks. If you would like more information or to purchase them please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk
Happy Stampin
