Pines and Poinsettias

Today I am going to share a sneak peak of one of the projects I was working on yesterday, featuring the stamp set that we are going to be using at this month’s card making class, Pines and Poinsettias.

Pines and Poinsettias Sneak Peak
Pines and Poinsettias is one of the stamp sets I instantly fell in love with when I saw the Idea Book and Catalogue and it made me break my plan not to buy any more Christmas Stamps this year! I do think while it is predominantly a Christmas Set its going to be good to use all year round.

This month’s card making class is on Saturday 12 November, at Chews House in Dunstable. We will be making a collection of luxary Christmas Cards featuring the Pines and Poinsettias Stamp Set and the wonderful coordinating Holly Berry Speciality Designer Series Papers. The class costs £26 and includes the Pines and Poinsettias Stamp Set in your choice of wood or clear mount. Full details can be found here. To book your place please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk by Monday 7 November.

I look forward to seeing you in class

Dasher for Christmas

I spent a lovely day crafting yesterday making things for our stand at the NEC – I am really looking forward to the show so if you are coming on either Thursday (3rd) or Saturday (5th) please make sure you stop by our stand, C16 and say hello.

I am not going to show you any of those projects just yet, so today I am going to show you a quick Christmas Card we made as part of the last meeting of the Christmas Card Club. It features the lovely Dasher.

Dasher Christmas Card
The background was created with Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set stamped in Whisper White on Crumb Cake, and Dasher, complete with some glitter, is on a tag cut from the lovely Two Tags Die in Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper.

The next meeting of the Christmas Card Club is on Monday 21 November. If you would like to join us and make 10 post friendly Christmas Cards in 2 hours in either the morning, the afternoon or the evening please email me, bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Scrapbooking Saturday - Try Scrapbooking

I am loving Scrapbooking at the moment so really look forward to sharing Scrapbook Pages with you each week.

If Scrapbooking is something you would like to try I have recently introduced Scrapbooking Taster Sessions. At these sessions, you and your friends will learn the basics of scrapbooking and make a beautiful page which is yours to keep. You will each get a kit of goodies that contains all the supplies for the page you are going to make plus some extras to use later. The sessions cost £10 per person or can be taken for free when you place an order for £30 or more at the session. To book your session please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

So today’s page features some of the lovely papers from the Timeless Portrait Collection. I love this River Rock paper and here have teamed it with Island Indigo and Very Vanilla.

Timeless Portrait Scrapbook Page
The photo on this page was punched out and nestled in a frame that was already printed on the paper – super cute and super easy! There is also quite a lot of punch action going on – I have used three different edge punches, the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Punch and the Scallop Trim Border Punch to add some detail to the focal panel.

Timeless Portrait Scrapbook Page Detail
I hope you like today’s page and hope that you would like to give Scrapbooking a go if you have not done so before. Just email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk to arrange your taster session.

Halloween Treats

After yesterday’s post I spent an evening making Halloween treats for those who are involved in Village Panto. This is what I came up with.

Halloween Treat Boxes with Pumpkin Faces
I used the Frightful Sight Designer Series Papers and the wonderful Pillow Box Die. The pumpkins were made using the Jack of all Trades and some punches.  Here they all are in the box waiting to go!

Halloween Treat Boxes
Now I must dash – We are at the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC next week and I have lots to do for that. If you are visiting the show do make sure you come and say hello.

Jack of All Trades ...

Is how I feel sometimes!  On Monday we had our first rehearsal for this year’s village pantomime. The first rehearsal is always an exciting one and a nerve wracking one for me as its when I hear the script we have written read out loud for the first time. The kids in the cast all seemed to like it so with a few minor tweaks we should be good to go! The are all also very excited about the fact that our rehearsal next week is on Halloween, some are even going to come in fancy dress costumes. I think I am going to have to make some more Halloween Treats to give out!

Halloween Pillow Box
This is one I made a little while ago for a demonstration at a local school. It uses the wonderful Pillow Box Die and the spooktacular (sorry – all that panto writing must be having an effect!) Jack of All Trades Stamp Set.

Scrapbooking Saturday - Passionettes in Prgue

Today I am going to show you the other project I shared at last weekend’s team training. This Scrapbook Page features a photo of Monica, Julie and in the Archbishop’s Palace in Prague, on the final night of the all expenses paid holiday we earned with Stampin’ Up!

It was an amazing and opulent evening and something I feel privileged to have experienced. When I saw the Mocca Morning Papers I knew they would be ideal for scrapping the photos of that magical evening.

There is not that much journaling on this page yet as it is going to be part of a series of pages about the evening, but there is plenty of room for more around the edges of the patterned papers.

Mocca Morning Butterfly
Since it is for my Prague album there had to be a butterfly as well as some circular elements - they are going to help the album feel like one despite lots of different papers making an appearance!
Archbishops Palace in Prague Page Detail

Do you like the frame on the photo? Would you like to know how to make it? Well make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter as subscribers will get instructions as part of the next newsletter at the start of next month. You can subscribe by popping your email address in the box on the top right hand side of this blog.

Find Out Atbout Friday - Stampin' Scrub & Stampin' Mist

This week’s Find Out About Friday is going to look at something I consider to be one of the basic tools of Stamping. The Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin' Mist.

Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist from Stampin' Up!
This wonderful little black box allows you to keep your stamps in tip top condition, ensuring they are always clean and ready to go.

The sturdy PVC case of the Stampin' Scrub houses two removable black scrubbing pads. To use it you lightly spray the side labelled with rain drops with a little Stampin’ Mist and then gently scrub your dirty stamp on it. Then you rub your stamp on the other dry side (labelled with an umbrella) to remove any leftover moisture and ink and hey presto you are ready to stamp in another colour straight away or to store your stamp ready for the next time you want to use it. Not only will they be clean but the Stampin’ Mist will also ensure they are conditioned to keep them in great condition. It probably took you longer to read this paragraph than it would to clean your stamp!

For the best results stamps should be cleaned this way straight after use and the pad in the Stampin' Scrub should only lightly be dampened with Stampin’ Mist before use. That way you will avoid splattering while scrubbing and leakage when you close the case.

The pads can be removed and cleaned by running them under a tap and then allowing them to air dry.

As well as cleaning your stamps the Stampin' Scrub can also be used to clean the positioning sheet of your Stamp-a-ma-jig. I have also found the Stampin’ Mist is great at removing ink from my hands if I have got particularly inky!

If you don’t already have one I can highly recommend the Stampin’ Scrub and the Stampin’ Mist – it will be the cheapest washer dryer you will ever buy and probably be the one you use most! If you would like to purchase these items please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Do you want to see one of the things we did at Team Training?

On Saturday we had our quarterly team training day. My team get together once a month, and then every quarter we spend a whole day together.  I really enjoy these events, it’s a lot of fun to catch up with everyone and to spend the a whole day together stamping and sharing ideas.

I also enjoy getting ready for them, well maybe not the actual packing of the kits (I had some help this time which was fab and made the job so much quicker – thank you!), but I do enjoy working on the business training I deliver and designing projects for us all to make and share.

Today I am going to share one of the projects I designed with you. We used the wonderful Mocca Morning Speciality Papers and they really inspired this project.

Mocca
Handbag’s are always good right? Well this one as well as looking cute has another secret. You open this pretty closure and

Mocca Morning Speciality Papers Handbag Closure
Find that it is actually a scrapbook!

If you would like to join us at one of these meetings please get in touch – bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk They are just one of the many ways I support my team and help them achieve what they want to achieve with Stampin’ Up! When you get in touch we can arrange a no obligation chat about joining my team.

Material Monday

Lots of you have been very excited to see Fabrics in the New Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. However a lot of you have also said that you love it but asked what would you do with it. To try and answer that question I have decided to start an occasional series of posts featuring the fabrics and different ways of using them. The posts will be on a Monday so the series will be called Material Mondays!

Now I should say I am not an expert needlewoman, and its been more year’s than I care to count since I last used fabric, so some of the ideas will be very straightforward and the experts out there may well find them very simplistic. I hope that I am not alone in having only basic skills and hope you will join me on the journey to discover fun things to do with the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Fabrics.

Today I am going to show you how you can easily incorporate the pretty fabrics onto a card. The texture that they bring is wonderful.

Card Featuring Flirtacious Fabric
For this card I have simply die cut a couple of flowers using the Fun Flowers Die and added them as a layer on my card’s focal point. For the best results I put two layers of fabric between two layers of scrap paper and ran it through my big shot. This just made sure that the threads from the fabric did not get caught in my die.

I hope you have enjoyed this first post of the Material Monday series – we did not even need a needle and thread!

Stampin' Superstars

Today I will be in Peterborough for our team’s quarterly training day. I love these days and really enjoy putting them together for everyone and then seeing their reaction. Even better for me is when people implement the things we have shown them and discussed in their own business and get great results.

I will show you the projects I have designed for the event soon (just in case any of them are reading this before we start!).

I also look forward to seeing some of my team members that live further away from me, and today I have a special card for two of those ladies, both of whom have achieved significant milestones in their Stampin’ Up! career recently. Once has started her own team and one has started her own business.

Delicate Doilies Contrgratulations Card
The cards I have made for them feature the lovely Delicate Doilies Stamp Set and the stunning Lace Ribbon Punch. The sentiment is from Curly Cute. The colours are the stunning new In Colour, Indigo Island and Pool Party. I love this combination! These two ladies are stars so there had to be some sparkle added by the pretty rhinestones.

Well Done Ladies – I am proud of you both.

Congratulations Card for a Superstar
If you would like to know more about being a Stampin’ Superstar email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk For anyone who joins us this month, Stampin’ Up! will give you five additional ink pads, one in each of this year’s in-colors and a pack of assorted A4 card in the in-colors. This is in addition to the high value starter kit which provides you with everything you need to start a successful business and to start making money sharing your love of stamping. We would love to welcome you to the team.

Scrapbooking Saturday - Sunrise

Did you enjoy yesterdays Frightful’ Video! I hope so. Today we are going to change seasons somewhat and I am going to show you a scrapbook page featuring one of the wonderful sunrises we were lucky enough to experience on a very spoiling holiday to the Maldives.

The colours in the sunrise were amazing and the whole experience made getting up at what seemed the middle of the night totally worth it. I wanted the photo to take centre stage but still wanted to make the page look really special. The laser cut doily paper from the Flirtacious Speciality Paper Pack provided the answer for me. I trimmed a row of doilies from two of the sides and used the reverse white side to make a stunning frame for my photo and journaling block. A strip of patterned paper from the same pack, and a little stamping with the coordinating Delicate Doilies Stamp Set, anchors the design and I was just about done.

Sunrise Scrapbook Page
If you would like to learn more about scrapbooking I now offer Scrapbooking Taster Classes where you and your friends get together, I will take you through the basics and then everyone will complete a full scrapbook page. Contact me (bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk) for details.

Paisley Petals Papers

Today I am going to share a card with you that is all about the papers! Designer Series Papers can be a wonderful addition to your cards and sometimes they are so lovely you don’t actually need a lot more than the papers!

Thoday's card features some of the lovely paper from the Paisley Petals Designer Series Papers. I love this mix of Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Always Artichoke and River Rock. I have just added a few River Rock butterflies made with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and a strip punched with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. I am growing to love this punch almost as much as my Beautiful Wing’s Embosslit. This card was super quick to make and I am very pleased with the results.

Why should you join my team?

One of the questions I get asked a lot is why should I join Stampin’ Up!? So today I thought I would share the top 3 reasons people have joined my team.

1. To make money.

What would you do with an extra £100 a month? What bills would it pay, what treats could you allow yourself and the family? What if you earned even more? Well all that is possible when you start your own Stampin’ Up! business and fit it around your other commitments. The more you put in the more you will earn.

2. Working with a great company.

Stampin’ Up! really support their Demonstrators. As well as the great financial rewards they offer us there are many other incentives too. These range from free products to performance bonus schemes to luxury holidays and include special schemes for New Demonstrators who can earn lots of free stamp sets and even get the cost of their starter kit back.

For those who join in October Stampin’ Up! are even offering some additional free product to help boost your business straight away. The starter kit costs £119 and contains at least £250’s worth of product and everything you need to start a successful business. During October you also get an In Color Kit worth an additional £27.95 giving you even more products and creative possibilities to share with your customers.

3. The People.

I run an ethical and successful business and am proud to say I have some of the most wonderful people in my Stampin’ Superstars Team. My aim is to help them all to achieve their goal’s with Stampin’ Up! what ever they are (and they range from getting their products at a reduced price to wanting to give up work and make it their full time job). I am a qualified business coach and love to combine this with my passion for papercrafts. Stampin’ Up! is full of amazing and inspiring people and I am truly grateful for the wonderful friendships I have made.

Now really is a great time to join me. You could be making extra money to spend on Christmas or towards that next holiday, or to make paying the bills a bit easier. I would love to welcome you to the team so why not email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk and lets chat about how Stampin’ Up! could help you meet your goals.
