Find Out About Friday - Larger Embossing Folders from Stampin' Up!

I am very excited that tomorrow I am going to be able to share the new Autumn Winter Seasonal Catalogue from Stampin' Up! with you.  It is 40 pages of gorgeous products to boost your seasonal crafting and I know you are going to love it!

For this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to share something with you that you may not notice when you first browse the delicious pages!  I am sure you will notice the 3 fantastic new embossing folders - one of which is a pattern I have been wishing I had for the longest time.  What many not be immediately apparent is that as well as being beautiful designs they are also larger - now I can't show you the folders themselves just yet but I can show you what they do ...
New Larger Embossing Folders from Stampin' Up! See them at www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

On the left you have the impression from one of the new folders while on the right you have the impression from the Square Lattice Embossing folder which is currently available.  The new embossing folders emboss a larger area.  I have left a border around 3 of the sides so you can see I have not trimmed the edges of the embosses area

The Square Lattice Embossing Folder, like the others that are currently available give an embossed area measuring 10.5 cm x 14cm (4.1 inches x 5.5 inches)
New Larger Embossing Folders from Stampin' Up! See them at www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

The new Embossing Folderes give an embossed area measuring 10.5cm x 15.5 cm (4.1 inches x 6.1 inches)
New Larger Embossing Folders from Stampin' Up! See them at www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

This extra length is going to add hugely to the versatility of the Embossing Folders and give lots of new ways of using them.  With these new folders it will be possible to emboss the whole of the front of a standard A6 card, to emboss the whole width of a 6 inch square card as well as larger die cut shapes.

I am looking forward to exploring them further and being able to share all the details of the Autumn Winter Seasonal Catalogue with you tomorrow - so be sure to check back then

Find Out About Friday - 3 Things you can do with your Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - other than just stamp!

For this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to share 3 things you can do with your Clear Mount Blocks from Stampin' Up!, but before I do I thought I would tell you a little about them.
3 things you can do with your Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - other than just stamping!

The Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks come in 9 different sizes and are made of a very sturdy crystal clear acrylic.  They are easy to hold thanks to the comfortable curved groove on each side.  I have always loved the way a wood mount stamp feels in the hand and these blocks are the closest I have come to that.  To mount your stamp on them you place it stamping side down on your grid paper or stamping surface and take the block to the stamp pressing down with firm even pressure.  Its easy to choose which block to use as all stamp images in the Stampin' Up! Catalogue are shown at full size and once you have the stamps at home they are also shown at full size on the front of the case.  Each block has is etched with a letter representing its size and for easy identification.  There is also a great storage caddy available.
3 things you can do with your Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - other than just stamping!

So now that you know a little about them, what can you do with the Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - well of course you can stamp with them but today I am going to share three more things you can do with your Clear Mount Blocks.

1. Stamp Multiple Images at the Same Time
By mounting more than one stamp on your block at a time you can stamp several images at the same time and ensure that they are always in the same place relative to each other.  This is particularly useful if either you are in a hurry (and lets face it we all have last moment cards to do from time to time!) or you want to make a batch of cards.  I have used 3 stamps together on one block to make this announcement card.
3 things you can do with your Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - other than just stamping!
2. Use your Clear Mount Block as a Stamp
Ink up your block as if it was a stamp and you get this interesting background effect - great for one layer cards or cards you want to keep as flat as possible.  This is especially important for cards you want to post if you want to avoid the large letter charges.

3 things you can do with your Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks - other than just stamping!
3. Use your Clear Mount Block as a Pallet
Scribble some colour onto your Clear Mount Block with a Stampin' Write Marker or drop on a couple of drops of ink and you have a great pallet ready to use with either a Blender Pen or a Waterbrush.  You can see exactly how much ink you are picking up and its easy to clean off afterwards.  To clean your block you can either just wipe it with a kitchen towel or soft cloth or run it under a tap.

I hope you have fun trying some of these uses for the Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks.  If you would like more information or to purchase them please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Everything Eleanor Birthday Card

August is a month packed with birthdays around here and today I am going to share another birthday card with you - this time featuring one of my favourite stamp sets, Everything Eleanor.
Everything Eleanor Birthday Card by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

This card was for a fellow lover of purple and the background is the gorgeous Concord Crush Designer Series Papers. Like the other 2010-12 In Colors (Pear Pizzaz, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait) it is only going to be available until the end of September so I am enjoying using it while I can!  Here I have teamed it with Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Regal Rose

The framelet has been stamped with the lovely Parlour Prints background stamp inked in both Pool Party and Regal Rose and the flowers have been partially coloured with a blender pen. The greeting is from the aptly names Sweet Cake Stamp Set.

The In Color programme from Stampin' Up! means that we get five new colours every year, each one lasting just two years. I have seen the new In Colors and I know you are going to love them - that is one of the many perks of being a Demonstrator! If, like me you also love the 2010-12 In Colors of Concord Crush, Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait please make sure you get your supplies before the end of September, while they are still available. Sweet Cake Birthday Cards

I have some more Birthday Cards to show you today and these ones were made using the lovely Sweet Cake Stamp Set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  August is a busy birthday month around here and I really should not leave cards to the last moment but I did and this stamp set is fantastic for putting together a quick and effective card.
Sweet Cake Birthday Cards by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

I love how you can easily get a vintage feel with this stamp set and stamped it onto Very Vanilla Card and used soft warm colours to accentuate that.  I stamped off parts of the images bu taking scraps of paper to parts of it to give a shabby worn effect.  And in case someone who knows the recipients of these cards is reading this - the vintage & worn  is not a comment about the birthday boys!

The Sweet Cake Stamp Set is in the current Summer Mini Catalogue and like everything else in it is only available until the end of the month.  We do not know yet what, if anything is going to be available again in October so if there are things you want to order please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk as soon as possible

Joining Stampin' Up! A Big Reason to Smile!

Today I am going to share some more Reason to Smile Cards and these ones were made for 3 lovely ladies who recently joined Stampin' Up! as part of my team.  Joining Stampin' Up! is certainly a very big Reason to Smile and I still remember how excited I was to be starting my Stampin' Up! adventure.

There are lots and lots of benefits of joining Stampin' Up! and you can read about them here, and all of them from sharing my love of crafting, to the friends I have made, to the flexibility to make money around my other commitments to the discount I get on my products, make me smile!
Join my Stampin' Up! Team Reason to Smile Card by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

These cards were made by stamping the large daisy image from the Reason to Smile Stamp Set and then colouring the centre with a dauber.  Next I used the solid image to clear emboss over the flowers, before swirling some Pool Party ink over the background with another dauber and finally stamping some of the other flower outlines in Pool Party.  The sentiment is from the lovely Curly Cute Stamp Set (probably my favourite sentiment stamp set).  I added some Victoria Crochet Trim and linen thread and punched a border using the Eyelet Border Punch.

When people join our team, as well as special gift to help them build their business I also give them a fun gift. I presented these three in a Pillow Box decorated to coordinate with the cards.

Little Additions Thank You Cards

Today I am going to share with you the Thank You Cards I made for all the wonderful people who were involved in the production I directed of Patrick Barlow's The 39 Steps.  The opening and closing scenes of the play take place in a sparsely furnished London Flat, with an Armchair, a table and a lamp, so using the fantastic Little Additions Stamp Set I set out to recreate that scene and this is what I came up with.

Little Additions House Scene Thank You Card and Pillow Box by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

The way our set moved and opened up inspired me to make a double fronted card.
Little Additions House Scene Thank You Card and Pillow Box by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

The image panel was created by stamping the scene, then stamping the ledger image from The Open Sea Stamp Set in versamark and embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I then added Pool Party Ink with a dauber.
Little Additions House Scene Thank You Card and Pillow Box by Bekka www.feeling-crafty.co.uk

I also got everyone a little gift which I wrapped in a Pillow Box which I decorated to match.
