Fast Father's Day Card using The Open Sea Stamp Set

With Father's Day rapidly approaching (its this Sunday here in the UK) today I am going to show you a quick and easy Father's Day Card 

The images from The Open Sea Stamp Set have been stamped in Pool Party, Island Indigo and Midnight Muse to give a very fashinable Ombre touch to this card.

Fathers Day Card Idea using The Open Sea Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

A week today is Father's Day here in the UK so today I though I would share a card featuring The Open Sea Stamp Set from Stampin'  Up! that would make a great Father's Day Card.  It would of course also make a great card to give any man in your life at any other time too!

The background has been stamped and smudged with sponges - the Stampin' Up! inks dry really fast so to get this effect you need to make sure your pads have been recently re inked and you need to work quite quickly!

The beautiful boat sits on a washed background created by colouring on a clear stamp block, spritzing with water and then stamping the block on the card.  I was reminded how much I love this technique when I saw it demonstrated by my lovely friend Lynne at the recent Stampin' Up! Training event.  Once it was dry I stamped on it and coloured in the sails using a white Gel Pen - well most of the sails - I seem to have missed one!

I know a lot of people find making cards for men hard so I hope this one inspires you

Scrapbook Saturday - The Boys in the Office!

For last week's Scrapbook Saturday I showed you two pages about my trip to Germany to make a video for Stampin' Up! and that was all very exciting, but it was also great to get to spend some time with the wonderful UK Demonstrator Support Team,  

This page features a photo of them and some of the Sunshine and Sprinkles Papers!  These two are a vital part of our businesses and I for one would be lost with out them!  I will be adding some journalling to that effect too!

Find Out About Friday - My Play Book Workshop

For this week's Find Out About Friday I am very excited to be able to share a projects I have been working on for a while with the fabulous Life Coach Clare Wildman - The My Play Book Workshop.

In addition to allowing us to preserve our memories, journalling has many benefits which we will explore as part of this fun one day workshop. We will look at different techniques and help you find the approach that works best for you as you take some time for yourself and to reflect. By the end of the day you will have started to create your own Play Book.

What is your Play Book?  Your Play Book is a place where you can escape and play, a place where you can keep your stories and scripts (the plays of your life) can work out your plans (your game plays),  and where you can have a lot of fun on a play date with yourself!

The first of these workshops will take place on Sunday 7 July in Milton Keynes and we are offering a special introductory price of just £45. This special price includes your tuition, a This and That Epic Day Journal and other materials to use on the day, and light refreshments (you just need to bring your lunch)

Your Amazing Birthday Card

Your Amazing is rapidly becoming my go to Birthday Card Stamp Set - I love the greeting and how beautifully it fits with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

This card also features the wonderful honeycomb embossing folder, papers from the beautiful Tea for Two collection and one of the Tea Lace Doilies.  The Tea for Two Papers are the papers we are featuring at this month's scrapbooking club, being able to make things with pretty papers and then keep them is one of the reasons I started scrapbooking!  You can find out more about Scrapbook Club here.

Best Of Flowers

I am loving the new Best of Flowers Stamp Set - the only challenge I have with it is having the time to make cards with the ideas that are bouncing round in my head inspired by it!

Today I am going to share a quick card featuring the gorgeous bouquet like image from the set.  As well as being a gorgeous little bouquet it also reminds me of a corsage and with the wedding season soon to be upon us I am sure there are some beautiful wedding cards to be made with this image!

The papers I have used are from the gorgeous Epic Day This and That Paper Series, rapidly becoming my favourite papers as they are so versatile and add so much depth to a project.

Patterned Party Bright Balloon Card

The Best of Special Stamps and much more!

I am so excited as today I am sharing not one but two sets of special stamps, the first is from the Best Of Anniversary Collections and the second are a collection of individual stamps.

This card was made using the beautiful Hydrangea from the new Best Of Flowers 25th Anniversary Stamp Set.  To celebrate 25 years of beautiful stamp sets, for the next five months Stampin' Up! are releasing a total of 5 collections of some of the most popular images!  Each collection will have between three and five stamps and will only be available until 31 March 2014.  

The first set is the the Best of Flowers and I am already totally in love with it!  This collection contains 4 stamps and has, as all the collections will have, one totally new image.  

These stamp sets are sure to become firm favourites that you use over and over and to become collectors items too.

Scrapbook Saturday - The Making of a Video

A couple of days ago I shared a video that I went to the Stampin' Up! Offices in Germany to make.  I am not happy having my photo taken, that in part is why I am usually the one with a camera, so the idea of being filmed filled me with dread!  In the end we spent the whole morning laughing and both Charlotte and I got the giggles more times than I could count.

Despite this we got the video made quicker than they expected!  That is the story that will get written on this first Scrapbook Page.  Her are the photos so you can really see them!

There is then a second page which looks like this and that will tell the rest of the story.

For both of the pages I masked the edge of the page and then stamped butterflies in matching Marina Mist Ink.  I then inked inside the masking and added some sponging in Old Olive for added texture.  I also drew frames on the pages.

I have been fortunate enough to work with lots of great companies, and my visit to the offices reminded me just how great Stampin' Up! are to work with.  Everyone in the offices made me feel so welcome.  It was lovely to spend some time with them all and I came away very inspired and with refreshed confident in the support we as demonstrators get.  I am so lucky to get paid to do something I love and if you would like to find out more about it please get in touch (bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk)
