Go Confidently

Today I am going to share one of the projects we made last Saturday when I met up with fellow demo’s Karin & Monica. This project was designed by Karin who is an extremely talented scrap booker

This cute little 6x6 page uses the Stampin’ Up! Carousel Notes and the Live your Dreams Stamp Set. The colours are Mellow Moss , Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal and Pretty in Pink. The photo’s and journaling go on cards inside the pocket which was cleverly created using half an envelope

Thanks for this lovely little project Karin – now I just need to decide what photo to add and what to write about!

Flowers on a Rainy Day

Well toady even the British Met Office is saying we will have a wet summer this year – I certainly have needed my umbrella more than I have needed my sun cream!

Anyway today I am going to share with you a couple of other projects we made at last Saturday’s card class.

The first card was made using the very versatile Petal Pizzazz Stamp Set, combined with two of the fabulous Background Stamps, Polka Dot and Paisley. The Polka Dot was stamped in Almost Amethyst to form the background. The flowers were stamped using Elegant Eggplant, the large one kissed with the Paisley Background Stamp. If you would like to learn how to kiss with your stamps please get in touch and I can help you learn another fun way to use your stamps.

And here is the gift bag we stamped using stamps from Fresh Cuts and Life’s Beautiful

To book a place on any of my classes please just get in touch. Dont forget that registration for the first Get Ready for Christmas Class closes on Saturday! Full details here.

Thank You Gifts

I think I may have mentioned that I had a really crafty day on Saturday. As well as my regular monthly card making class I met up with two fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators – my wonderful Up line Monica and the lovely and talented Karin. What a great way to spend an evening.

Today I am going to share with you the little gifts I made for Karin and Monica
Yep – I made two more handbags from Designer Papers! This time I started with 6x6 sheets and made mini bags which were just big enough to fit two Ferraro Rocher Chocolates. One of the bags was made from a sheet of the Haiku Papers the other from Tea and Crumpets. Since the Stampin’ Up! Designer Papers are double sided these bags come with a readymade lining so look good on the inside as well.

While we were together we made some lovely projects which I will show you later in the week. I have spent today making a model of the set I have designed for a play my OH is directing. I enjoyed designing the set but have decided that making models is really not my strength! Bring back the card making ...

Rainy Days and Mondays!

We seem to be having another rainy Monday here – so much for the British Summer!
Today I am going to show you a couple of the cards the lovely ladies who came to my class on Saturday made.
This first card is a version of a card I have shown you before – I just love this image from the Summer By the Sea Stamp Set and the ladies enjoyed making this unusual shaped card. The card is Always Artichoke and Natural Ivory and the image has been coloured using watercolour wonder crayons in So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Always Artichoke. The image is mounted on a layer of Natural Ivory stamped in Pretty in Pink on Natural Ivory using a stamp from the Pocket Silhouettes Set.
Next we made this card using the adorable Crazy for Cupcakes Stamp set. The colours used are Brocade Blue, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. The background was created using the Canvas Background Stamp and one of the small flowers from the One of A Kind Stamp Set. The icing on the cake was stamped twice and mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals, while a glow from the candle was added to the base layer using a sponge dauber.

The colour combination makes this card suitable for either a man or a woman.

I am so lucky that I have such a lovely group of ladies who come to my classes. If you would like to join them the next monthly class is on Saturday 22 August at 2pm when we will be making cards for all reasons. Between now and then there is also the first to the two Get Ready For Christmas Parties. on August 15th – that is shaping up to be a lot of fun and I may have some sneak peaks for you later this week. Don’t forget you need to book this all day party by the 1st August – at the party you will make at least 35 Christmas Cards, a Christmas Planner and at least 10 gift tags. You can find out all about the Get Ready For Christmas Parties here.

Stamp With Us Challenge

I have been having a lot of stamping fun this weekend having spent most of yesterday stamping with two different groups of friends, but I will tell you more about that and show you some of the things we made over the next few days.

Sunday is Stamp with US Challenge Day and this week the challenge is a recipe challenge. The challenge recipe is Two Patterned Papers, One Ribbon and One Piece of Hardware. I find these recipes quite hard but once I get started I really enjoy them.

So here is my card for this week
I wanted to create something with a slightly vintage look so have used the wonderful Tea and Crumpets Papers – these always feel very cottagey to me. I also wanted to use my new toy – a wonderful little second hand sewing machine that I brought from the lovely Kate, so I stitched the papers onto a layer of Natural Ivory Card. I loved using my new toy – thank you Kate.

The main image is from the Live Your Dreams Stamp Set. I have coloured it using marker pens in Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink and Apricot Appeal. I love the precision with which you can add colour with the markers and how this allows you to shade your image.

The stamped image was cut out using the Oval Nestabilities and then I shaded round the edge with Apricot Appeal to give a soft and aged look. I mounted it on a scalloped oval of Always Artichoke. The sentiment is mounted behind a piece from the silver hodge podge hardware kit on a length of Always Artichoke ribbon.

I really enjoyed making this and look forward to seeing what you make in response to the challenge.

PS: Edited – I have just seen the card the talented Sara made for this challenge – what a great card lay out! We did not compare notes honest ...

How Cute!

Now you will be able to tell that I took today’s photo a few days ago – when we had a brief sunny spell and were able to pretend it was summer. To get these photos I had to contend with the wind and with a lot of local interest!
Yesterday I showed you a set of pretty notelets that I made using Stampin’ Up!’s Happiness Always and Live Your Dream’s Stamp Sets. Well Pretty Notelets deserve a pretty package to live in and based on an idea by the lovely Monica this is what I have come up with How cute is that! I love this design – Thank You Monica. I am pretty sure I will make more of them before too long.
This one has been made with a sheet of Bashful Blue Designer Paper onto which I have stamped the butterfly from the Live Your Dreams Stamp Set. I have used Regal Rose ink to coordinate with the cards that are inside. The handbag’s closure is also made in Regal Rose as are the ribbon handles.
We are off to a posh do in a couple of months – I wonder if I could get away with a handbag like this!

On a Happy Note

Some days it is hard to believe that it is summer – and we have had quite a few of those this week. However I hope today’s card will cheer you up and help you remember what summer is all about!

I really enjoyed using the Happiness Always Stamp Set yesterday – it is one I have wanted for the longest of times and one that is only available to people who host a very successful Stampin’ Up! Party. I love how the outlined shapes look on the soft Natural Ivory card – such a pretty look.
For these cards I have repeated a design from yesterday but in a totally different colour way – Regal Rose and Bashful Blue. I am very fond of how these two colours look together. The stamp sets are Happiness Always and Live your Dreams. All the supplies are from Stampin’ Up!

I made a total of eight of these little beauties and I think they make a lovely notelet set – come back tomorrow and see how I have packaged them up. I probably should not say so of one of my own projects but I am really pleased with how it turned out. I can see me making more of the sets as gifts ... I need to start thinking about gifts for several birthdays and then of course there is Christmas too.

There is also some Yo-Yo Yellow hidden under the vellum butterfly. The stamp sets are Happiness Always (the level 3 Hostess Set) and Live your Dreams.

Stamp With Us on a Sunday!

I missed doing the Stamp with Us Challenge last week – did you? I really enjoyed this weeks challenge – I think the colour challenges are probably my favourites. In fact I enjoyed this one so much I have made several cards using this colour combination – but more of that tomorrow!
Here is the picture we were given for inspiration – a much needed reminder that it is in fact summer – we have had lots of rain here this week so I for one needed reminding. I do love the seaside and this picture puts a big smile on my face! I love the soft sandy look of the picture too so decided to base my card on the Natural Ivory Card which has a lovely soft almost canvas like texture to it. Looking around my garden at the moment I have some lovely big daisy like flowers that also feel very summery so I decided to incorporate something like them into my design

Here is what I came up with
The stamp sets I have used are Live Your Dreams and the hostess set Happiness Always. The colours I have used are Real Red, Yo-Yo Yellow, Ballet Blue and Mellow Moss. The red butterfly was stamped onto Vellum card and attached with a glue dot.

I would love to see what the picture inspires you to create, so please do post a link over at Stamp With Us – don’t forget you have the chance to win a place on the summer on line courses if you enter!

Get Ready for Christmas the Feeling Crafty Way!

I don’t know about you but I find each year getting ready for Christmas is a real rush – it always seems that I blink and suddenly Christmas is here! Well this year I have decided to try and avoid the last moment rush and be able to enjoy the festive season.

I would like to invite you to do the same by joining me at one of my Get Ready for Christmas Parties. Once you have attended one of these fun packed events you will be well on the road to being ready for the festive season. More specifically you will have created

· A Christmas Organiser with room for all your planning and wish lists
· At least 35 Christmas Cards
· At least 10 Gift Tags
· Had a fun festive day
· Have a stamp set to take away with you

The organiser you make will be a bit like this one

So what will happen?
We will meet at 10am and start our day with a cup of tea or coffee and then start by making our Christmas Organisers. After a short break we will make our first batch of Christmas Cards before lunch. While we eat our lunch (please bring your own) we will have plenty of time to chat and if we want to swap Christmas Stories. After lunch we will make more Christmas Cards and our gift tags. As ever you will receive as much or as little help making the projects as you require.

Now since it is a party, there will be music playing in the background (festive of course!) and lots of chances to win prizes – well you can’t have a party without presents now can you!

It is expected that the party will finish at about 4.30pm

So what does all this cost?
The cost of attending this party is £45. For this you will receive
· a class kit containing over £40 worth of Stampin’ Up! product including a full stamp set which is yours to keep,
· as much help and instruction as you require
· Tea, coffee and soft drinks. Please bring your own lunch.

When can I come?
There are currently two opportunities to attend a Get Ready for Christmas Party. Saturday 15 August or Saturday 12 September, both of which will be at Chews House in Dunstable. If there is sufficient demand additional dates will be arranged. Due to the inclusion of a stamp set to keep and the quantity of other product involved it is essential to book a place at this party in advance. A deposit of £20 will also be required to secure your place. Bookings must be made and deposits paid at least 2 weeks before the Party Date, so if you want to come to the party on 15th August your deposit must be paid by 1 August, while if you want to come to the 12 September Party your deposit must be paid by 29 August.

To book your place to party and get ready for Christmas either email at bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

I look forward to seeing you all soon

Its all about Owls!

Earlier this week I received an unexpected package in the post – don’t you just love it when that happens!

When I opened the package I squealed with delight – look what I got from the wonderful Jo. The note said she saw this and thought of me! I do Luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve owls and a girl can never have too many bags right?

So a huge Thank You to Jo – hopefully this should have landed in your post box today. When I saw the bag I was inspired straight away to create some pink owls. So Jo, thank you for the inspiration too.

The card I have used the Natural Ivory card as a base and matched it with Regal Rose. The owl is of course from the Forrest Friends Set. I love the soft canvas look the Ivory Card Gives. I know I will be using that a lot more soon!
Having made a pink owl card I thought why stop there – and made it again in Elegant Eggplant, Take with Teal and Pumpkin Pie! Well as I say I do love owls.
Thank you for stopping by

PS – If ever you are in the Nuneaton Area look Jo up – she runs a fantastic monthly crop where the ladies are all really friendly and the inspiration flows as much as the fun

It's Beautiful Baby!

Do you find that sometimes you need to make a lot of cards in a hurry or is that just me? Recently I needed to make a batch of 30 Thank You / Here is the new baby cards.

To make these cards quickly I reached for the aptly named Its Beautiful wheel. Here I have used it with Pretty in Pink as a background to a black and white picture of Chloe.

I will be back with another card tomorrow – I just need to get it to the person it is for before I post it here!

Stamp With Us Challenge

Do you sometimes find that your card making follows a theme? Well the theme round here recently has certainly been children and babies! Last week the them for my monthly card making class was cards to give children and this week’s arrival has ensured that there will be lots of baby projects for the next few days (I have had quite a few requests for more of those mini brag books) and the baby announcement cards can now be done too!

Anyway today is Sunday so its time for this week’s Stamp With Us Challenge – and guess what the theme is ... Yes – Children’s Birthdays! I had a lot of fun making this card.

The inspiration for this card was those adorable wooden pull along toys that I always thought were really cute. I used the lovely elephant from the Wild About You Stamp Set. Each elephant was inked in a pale colour and then the edges rolled in a toning slightly darker colour to add some depth. Additional elephants were stamped and their ears cut out and added to the original elephants on a dimension pad The wheels were made from circles of card with a brad through the middle. The colours used on this card are So Saffron, More Mustard, Sage Shadow, Mellow Moss, Always Amethyst and Lovely Lilac. The card base is So Saffron with Very Vanilla and a Sage Shadow layer. The ribbon is the wonderful striped So Saffron. The greeting is from the Occasional Greetings Set.
I hope you decided to have a go at this weeks challenge and to post your entry over on the Stamp With Us blog - you could even win a place on this summers Stamp With Us online class.

Brag Book

Today has been a whirl of getting ready for the village carnival tomorrow – I am really looking forward to it but I am also looking forward to getting to my bed tonight! Carnival is going to be a lot of fun and there are some treats in store at the Feeling Crafty Stall so if you are in the Eaton Bray area be sure to stop by and say hello. I am also going to be launching a range of take away classes which I will tell you all about on Monday!

The other thing I have done today is met my OH’s granddaughter! Naturally I took lots of photos – just as well really as OH has asked me to make a brag book for his Mother for tomorrow morning when she gets to meet her Great Granddaughter! All I can say is thank goodness for the Simply Scrappin’ Kits! This little book took me about 30 mins to put together once I had the photos printed. I used the Love Stories Kit along with some papers from the Tea Party Range – so I will leave you with some pictures of the tiny bundle of cuteness

And yes this last picture is of the very proud Graddad!

Thanks for stopping by and if I don’t see you at the village carnival tomorrow I will be back on Sunday with the next Stamp With Us Challenge Card

Pink for a Girl

We have had a new addition to our family – my OH’s daughter gave birth to a little girl last night. Mother and daughter are both doing well. To celebrate I inked up the lovely butterflies from Happiness Always and some of the images from Nursery Necessities with Pretty in Pink ink – surely the only colour for a baby girl!

I have to dash, but thanks for stopping by, Happy Crafting
