12 Designs for Christmas - Card 1

Welcome to 12 Designs for Christmas. For the next 12 posts I will share 12 Christmas Card Designs with you. I really hope this series of posts will inspire you to make your own Christmas cards this year, so for each card I will also share an exact ingredients list so you and to encourage you still further, if you purchase everything you need to make one of the designs from me I will include a sample card for you.

Now when I sit down to make my Christmas Cards, I know that I have lots to make, so I want designs that are quick and relatively easy to reproduce, they need to be economical with card stock and fit in an ordinary envelope so I don’t end up playing extra postage. I also want them to stand out and to make people smile, and to have an impact. All the cards in this series are designed with these things in mind.

Today I am going to share a card with you that has been made using what is rapidly becoming one of my favourite stamp sets, Contempo Christmas and the idea for it came from the album I shared last week.

What you need to complete this project:
An A6 Card Blank made from Baja Breeze Card Stock
6 x 14.9 cm strip of Whisper White Card
3 x 14.9 cm strip of Cherry Cobbler Card
Scrap of Whisper White Card at least 5cmx5cm
Baja Breeze Ink
Cherry Cobbler Ink
Wild Wasabi Ink
Rhinestones
Contempo Christmas Stamp Set
Scallop Edge Punch
Ornament Punch
Dimensionals
Snail Adhesive

Stamp the large strip of Whisper White card with the ornament punch in Baja Breeze and Wild Wasabi. Stamp an additional ornament in Baja Breeze on the scrap of Whisper White. Punch this out. Scallop one edge of the Cherry Cobbler Card, keep the off cut as you are going to use the long strip. Stamp the sentiment onto the base using Cherry Cobbler and then assemble as shown. Use a dimensional to attach the additional ornament and when assembled add the Rhinestones. I used the largest size in the centre of the ornament , then the next size down in the middle and the littlest ones on the outer edges.

I hope you enjoy today’s card and look forward to sharing more of the 12 Design’s for Christmas with you next time.

If you would like to place an order email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Halloween Fun

Well Halloween is almost here so before we dive into Christmas Card making with the 12 Designs of Christmas (which starts this Friday) I thought I would share some of the projects from a Halloween themed Stampin’ Up! Party I did last week.

Now the hostess for this party is very into Halloween (as anyone who has visited her downstairs toilet will tell you!) so wanted her Stampin’ Up! Party to reflect that. I like to make sure my Hostesses have a night which they and their guests really enjoy and tailoring the party to suit their tastes and preferences helps do this and is a lot of fun for me! If you live in the Beds, Bucks and Herts area and would like me to do a Stampin’ Up! Party for you please get in touch bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk and we can sort out a suitable date and discuss what you would like at your party.

As a gift for my hostess I made one of these. I don’t have photos of the actual one we made but it was pretty similar.  I cant believe it was two years ago I made this one!  For this party as well as the punch art bats, we had ghosts, pumpkins and lots and lots of witches hats!

Everyone at a Stampin’ Up! Party gets to make a project and for this party the hostess asked me to share her love of box making so we made this treat holder which the ladies decorated with a variety of pumpkins, witches hats, ghosts and bats.

The witches hats were made with the scallop square punch and the oval punch.  The boxs were stamped with Seeing Stars.

My hostess also has a lovely daughter who is a huge help at parties and a very talented crafter in her own right, so I made an extra hostess gift for her.

The box is the same as the treat box the guests made but made from Very Vanilla Cardstock. I ripped a piece of paper and used it as a mask so I could sponge on the lines to make it look like it was wrapped in tatty bandages. I found the crumb cake ink was idea for this. The eyes are the wings from the Bird Punch, with a small Pumpkin Pie circle and a pearl on each.

I had a lot of fun at this party and am pleased that the guests did too. Even better my hostess got lots of free goodies! Thank you to everyone who came for a fun evening. If you want to book a party please let me know.

Would you like to be a Stampin' Superstar?

Today I am going to share a couple of cards with you that I made for two ladies who recently joined my team of Stampin’ Superstars. I love being a demonstrator and love sharing the opportunity to make money doing something I love with others. It’s got to be one of the best jobs in the world, I spend time doing what I love, get paid for doing it, can decided when I work and when I don’t, have made some incredible friends and have earned lots of Stampin’ Supplies for free!

So here are the cards I made to welcome them. It features the new Seeing Stars Stamp Set, well they are Stars in my mind. How fun are all those Star Image! The sentiment is from the New Curly Cute Stamp Set – a great collection of 5 greetings all is a wonderful font.

I can’t wait to get to know these ladies better and to see these ladies at our next team training. I am looking forward to celebrating the successes they have in their businesses and I know there will be lots!

If you would like to join my team of active and successful Demonstrators please email me and we can arrange a no pressure chat to see if this is the opportunity for you.

Will they find Treasure?

OK, last pirate card for a little while – I am sure you would like me to show you some of the other lovely goodness in the New Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue but before I do I have one more Pirate Ship to share with you.

This time I took the vintage look of the stamps and the idea of a treasure map as my start point.

I stamped the Ship Image in Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake, and ripped around the edges. I then inked them using Soft Suede. This was then placed on a ripped layer of Early Espresso. Can you see how wonderfully this card has ripped giving a different coloured edge – no inking required at all! I added a little bit of Gold Elastic Cord and a little more inking to the base and was done. I think this would make a wonderful invite for a Pirate themed party. In fact maybe we should throw a party just so I can do the invites!

Christmas is on its way!

What a wonderful day we had on Sunday! It was our Team Training Day and I got to spend the day with more than 30 other wonderful and inspiring people. As a team we meet every month, and once a quarter it is for a whole day. I love those days, catching up with friends, meeting new ones, swapping cards, sharing ideas to inspire ourselves and our customers and helping others make the most of the wonderful business opportunity that Stampin’ Up! Offers each of us. If you would like to know more about running your own Stampin’ Up! business please get in touch (bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk).

At our training days we always do a lot of Stamping and today I am going to show you the class project I shared as one of our make and takes. A Christmas Scrapbook Album.

The colours are Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Concord Crush.

The stamp set is Contempo Christmas, I just adore this set and the fact it has a matching punch makes me love it all the more!

It also uses some of the scrummy ribbons, rub ons and rhinestones that everyone had in their packs for the day.

This album would make a great Class Project, so if you would like to attend a class and make one let me know!

Now that I have you thinking about Christmas I want to let you know about a special event I have coming up right here on this blog! 12 Designs for Christmas. Starting next week I will share 12 Christmas Card Design Ideas with you. With each card I will give you a full list of all the products used along with the cutting dimensions. When you purchase all the products used for a card from me I will also include a sample card for you to copy. Stampin’ Up! have just announced that we can now take Visa and Mastercard payments so placing your orders is even easier!

I am looking forward to sharing these with you so be sure to stop by and check them out!

Back to Sea

Are you ready for another card made using Beware Pirates? I hope so as this one is about to sail into view! Sorry, I should probably apologise for the bad puns you keep finding around here. I am back rehearsing this year’s village pantomime again. Oh yes I am! This year the show we have written features Santa and Superhero’s and bad jokes naturally abound and seem to be creeping into other areas of my life!

So to the card ...

I coloured the large boat image the same way as I did on this card, but this time stamped it onto Crumb Cake for a much softer look. On this card I have again used Tempting Turquoise for the layer and this time punched with the new Scallop Border Punch and topped it with an Old Olive Bow. Only one little clue on this card that there is anything to do with pirates involved!

The background is stamped in Old Olive and is another new stamp – this one is from the wonderful Wedding Sweet Set. I am sure you will be seeing more of that around here before too long!

Take Note

I think I may have mentioned how much I love all the blues in the new Stampin’ Up! Colour Collections. Today I am going to share a card which features two of them, Pacific Point and Marina Mist.

The stamp set I have used is the wonderful Notably Ornate. I just adore the look of ledger paper at the moment and so this set is going to get a lot of inky loving!

Here I have kept things pretty simple so you can see some of the wonderful elements in this Stamp Set. I could not resist however adding some sparkle to the background card and some pearls from the new Basic Pearls collection to the main images. Love them!

Season for Swapping

One of the things Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators love to do when they get together is to swap cards. Its a fantastic way to get new ideas and I love to get involved with swaps. Toady I am going to share the card I made for the recent Training Session Stampin’ Up! ran in High Wycombe. Because I was presenting one of the sessions I knew I would have to start my swaps early, so I used a Stamp Set that carried over from the previous Idea Book and Catalogue.

I chose to use the wonderful Season Of Joy Stamp Set and decided to show that it is not just for Christmas! Here is what I came up with. Well one of them, I made a total of 80!

I cut everything and stamped all the layers and flowers, then when the beautiful ribbon we were able to get before it was available to non demonstrators arrived I finished off the cards with a knot of ribbon through the centre of each flower.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Stampin’

Beware you land lubbers!

Yep you guessed it – another pirate card for you today! Having shown you a distressed pirate last time today I though I would share a totally different take on the same basic card with you.

I have used the same image as I used for the last card as well as the same basic card lay out.

Today I coloured the stamp using my Stampin’ Write Markers so I could stamp it in two colours. The colours used in today’s card are Perfect Plum and Marina Mist, another blue that is making me smile when I use it – and it has coordinating ribbons. Quite enough to make my heart happy!

I have also used the new Scallop Trim Border on this card. I love how it lets you have a good look through it at the layer below!

Old Sea Dog!

Continuing with the Pirate theme today I am going to show you another card made using the new Beware Pirates Stamp Set. The sentiment seemed to sum up how I am feeling today!

The wonderfully versatile Stamp Set lends its self very well to the vintage distressed look, so I thought I would give that a go.

The main image has been stamped in Early Espresso (such a wonderful rich dark brown colour) onto Crumb Cake (or as we used to call it Kraft!). I have then ripped round the edges and distressed them using the distressing tool on my cutter kit. I then inked the edges with Soft Suede Ink. He is mounted on some torn Early Espresso.

The Crumb Cake base has been splattered with Marina Mist ink using the new Color Spritzer Tool. Wow what a lot of fun that is – this ingenious little device allows you to create amazing misted effects using your Stampin’ Write Markers. Brilliant!

If you would like this tool or any other Stampin’ Up! products please email me (bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk)

I will be back with more pirates for you in a couple of days.

Ahoy There!

With so many lovely new Stamp Sets in the New Idea Book and Catalogue it can be hard to know which ones to go for first! One of the new Stamp Sets I was very excited to see is a set called Beware Pirates! I just knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to play with it and when it landed on my desk I found lots more ideas started flowing.

Today I am going to share this card with you

Now as well as one featuring one of the images from this set, which has been coloured using my Stampin’ Write Markers, the card also features one of the new colours of cardstock - Pacific Point. The wonderful and vibrant blue is well on its way to becoming a firm favourite of mine. To be fair I am loving all the new blues we have in the range! Here I have teamed it with Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.

The base of the card has been splattered with white ink (from my reinker) and some Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint, just to give it a bit more pop. The Old Olive Satin ribbon has been pleated and folded using a simple technique I taught at my last card making class. If you want details of Octobers Card making Class you can find them here – it would be lovely to see you in class.

I hope you have enjoyed today card. I will be back with another in a couple of days as I hope to go back to posting every other day.
