For this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to show you how I made a card featuring an inlaid glitter butterfly. I have made no secret of the fact that I love the new Elegant Butterfly Punch and I am also partial to a bit of the wonderful Glimmer Paper - all the benefits of glitter with none of the mess. This card features both!
So how do you get that scrummy glittery turquoise butterfly inlaid into the card?
With the Elegant Butterfly Punch it is easier than it looks. Make your card base, mine is Tempting Turquoise with a Basic Grey layer which has been embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. Add a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper with a Butterfly punched out.
Take the butterfly that you have punched out and with a dauber add ink - I have used Tempting Turquoise. Add more ink at the edges and make sure they are really well covered. If you are using Stampin' Up! inks they will take a short while to dry on the glitter paper.
When it is dry stick the butterfly into the butterfly shaped hole on your base and you are done! It also looks great if you insert something in a totally different paper - such as the coordinating Designer Series Paper as I have done here.
Actually I did that another 143 times for my swaps for Convention! Here they are all stacked up and ready to be packed.
Have fun with this inlay technique and I look forward to seeing what you come up with
Happy Stampin'
