Butterflies and Secret Garden - Enjoy the Summer!

Yesterday I showed you two cards made with the lovely Secret Garden Stamp Set and matching Framelits.  When I made them I had a piece of the stamped paper left over and it was too pretty to not use so I made this card with it!

As well as the Secret Garden Stamps I have used the Enjoy sentiment from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set, and combined the Circle and the Starburst Framelits on top of a Tea Lace Doily which I have inked with Wisteria Wonder.  The card then needed something and I reached for the wonderful Beautiful Wings Embosslit - how come I had left it so long!  A few Rhinestones add a little sparkle too.

I think several elements of this card will need to make an appearance at my next card making class - so please check out my class schedule here.  If you are interested in a private class you may well want to check out my special booking offer - all the details are here.

Secret Garden and a technique for getting to know new stamps

I don't know about you but sometimes when I get a new stamp set, despite having loved it in the new Catalogue I get it out and then suddenly I don't know what to do with it!  I also find that can happen if I have not stamped for a while - for example after a holiday ...

Today I am going to share two cards made using a technique I use to help me get over that 'eek I don't know what to do' moment.
A technique for getting going with new stamps created this birthday card made using Secret Garden Stamps and Framelits from Stampin' Up! Check it out!
It is a very simple technique - I take a piece of card, three inks and three stamps from the set and using one colour for each stamp I just stamp until the piece of card is full.  Usually by then I am back and ready to go, but if I need a little more of a nudge I copy a design I have used before!

Today's card features the lovely Secret Garden Stamp Set.  I stamped using Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzaz.  The Wisteria Wonder layer has been embossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder and the greeting is from the wonderful Four You Stamp Set.  One of the things I love about the Secret Garden Stamp Set is that there is a set of Framelits, the Secret Garden Framelits, to cut them out and that is what I have used with the Wisteria Wonder Flowers which, like the greeting have been stamped in Elegant Eggplant.
