I love both taking and looking back at photos, its great to be able to relive fun memories when ever I want to and I find getting my photos printed off makes this much easier. There is however sometimes one problem. When my photos come back I sometimes feel overwhelmed by them all and when that happened until recently my answer was to put the box away and just ignore it - which rather defeats the object!
Today I am going to share what I do now to avoid that - and it is yet another reason I love Project Life by Stampin' Up! UK. These are some of the photos from my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary Weekend - there were about 150 of them all together!
First I sit and look through the photos putting them into rough piles so all the ones of the same or similar things are together.
Then I look through each pile and decide which my favourite pictures are. This for me is the hardest part but being ruthless helps as does knowing I can always do something else with the photos that are left over! I usually go through this process a second time using only the photos I selected the second time so the piles should get smaller and be the photos that I really love either because they are great photos or because they really tell a story
Next I slip the photos into the Project Life Page Protectors. I usually find that there will be some photos I decide not to use and if it is the story of a weekend or a holiday you may find that there are some things you want to go back and find a photo for. If you have tickets or other memorabilia you want to include now is a great time to pop it in a pocket.
When I have done this I grab my Project Life Card Collection and pick out the cards I might want to use. Here I have used the Playground Collection since I love it and I had used it for a previous family gathering earlier the same year. I then go through the pages and slot in the cards. I don't worry about it too much as I can always change my mind since the just slot in and out!
Next I add the words - telling the story and capturing the important details (I always feel sad when I look at old photos and don't know who the people in them are!).
Then all that is left is to add any embellishments I want to add. I have used the Playground and Love Story Accessory Pack.
And this is what that overwhelming heap of photos looks like now!
If you would like to have a go at organising your photos and memories in this way please get in touch. If you are local to me there is still time to book a free taster session - all the details are here.
