I like to have a few cards to hand that I can send for any occasion, be that celebration or be that to send love to someone who might need it right now. Today I am going to share such a card and a quick tip that I hope you will find helpful.
Do you see the threads behind the butterflies? Here is a closer look.
You may be wondering where I got that Tip Top Taupe Thread as you can't find it in the catalogue. It was made using a thread from the White Jute Ribbon which I then coloured using a dauber. Get a dauber or a sponge good and inky then put your thread on a piece of scrap paper. Put the dauber on top of one end and then pull the thread underneath it. You may want to repeat this a couple of times to get the intensity of colour you want. Can I suggest however that you resist the temptation to put the thread on your inkpad - you will be left with a very hairy ink pad - don't ask me how I know!!!
I hope you enjoy making your own custom colour threads to use on your cards and scrapbook pages.
Happy Stampin'
