Gift bags certainly make wrapping gifts quick and easy and the gift always looks fab in a pretty bag. I love the Stampin' Up! Gift Bag Punch Board as it allows me to make bags with all my pretty papers, in all sorts of sizes.. But sometimes you need a bag that is bigger than the biggest size it lists.
So what can you do? Well you could go shopping and buy a bag but that is not always possible and I don't know about you but I think they are rather expensive to buy! That all led me to play a little and make a bigger gift bag.
The finished bag which measures 27cm or 10.5 inches tall, 23cm or 9 inches wide and 5cm or 2 inches deep.
To make this bag you are going to need two pieces of 12x12 patterned paper and a Gift Bag Punch Board! Take each piece of paper and put it into the Gift Bag Punch Board and line it up with the Start Line. Rather than follow the instructions on the board, score up the closest line. Don't worry that you can't score up the whole length of the paper - just go as far along the paper as possible. Next move the paper so the line you have just scored is on the Start Line, then punch and score a bag side. Then score all the way along the bottom of the bag by moving the paper along and then finally punch the final end. Repeat for the second piece of paper - if you are using a paper with a pattern which has a strong direction make sure you score and punch both pieces so they end up the right way up or in the same direction as each other.
Next I folded the score lines and then joined the two pieces together, folded up the base and then punched the holes for the handles.
I hope this helps you wrap some presents easily. If you need any further instructions on this please just ask.
Happy Stampin'
