Sweet Treats made with Label Love from Stampin' Up!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to craft with some lovely people and had fun making some sweet treats for them too!
Sweet Treats made with Label Love from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Bekka
The papers are from the High Tide Designer Series Pack (which is only available until the end of this month), the label is from the Label Love Stamp Set and has been punched out with the matching Artisan Label Punch.  The base was made using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and tied together with Pool Party Seam Binding (again only available until the end of the month)  The butterflies were punched out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches.  The Elegant Butterfly has been punched from Silver Glimmer Paper which is one of the items available on the new set of weekly deals from Stampin' Up!

Find Out About Friday - How to create Borders and Shading with your Framelit Dies

I love my Framelit Dies and for this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to show you something fun you can do with them (other than just cutting out great shapes!)  Adding borders and layers to a card can really enhance how your card looks and today I am going to show you how you can get borders and a beautifully shaded effect using your Framelit Dies.

This card shows you some of the effects you can get.

So how do you get that look? Firstly you need to cut out your shape with  the die of your choice.  I have used the Deco Labels Set for these projects.  Do NOT push the card out of the die, instead carefully place it cutting side down on your work surface.  I always work on some grid paper and you may want to add something under that when doing this, although I have never cut through my paper.  Once you have placed the die and the card down take a sponge and your favourite ink and gently swirl on some colour.

When you take the die off you will have a coloured shape with a thin border in the origninal card colour.  The sample I showed you has one layer sponged with Tangerine Tango and then the Early Espresso Layer was sponged with Gold Metalic Ink.

Now this is not the only way you can create a great border with your Framelit Dies.  You can also create a solid line border.  Cut your shape and again leave it in your die.  Again place it cutting side down on your table and then take the narrow end of a Stampin' Write Marker and carefully trace around the inside as shown here.

And here are the two types of shading and borders side by side - ready to add to a project.

And here they are on another card created with the wonderful Envelope Punch Board.  The papers I have used are from Venetian Romance and the stamps are from Label Love and I have also used the matching Artisan Label Punch (save 15% when you buy these stamps and this punch together - click here)

Mr & Mrs Label Love Wedding Card - with Butterflies!

Last weekend I was lucky enough to spend the day with two lovely friends, celebrating their wedding.  Today I am going to share the card I made for them - I had a lot of fun designing it and pulling together what I know are some of the bride's favourite elements!

I had to use Everything Eleanor since it literally has the bride's name on it!  I know she loves butterflies as much as I do so Papillon Potpourri helped with those, as did the matching punches (don't forget those are on special offer this month).  She is also a big fan of sparkle so some glimmer paper and delicious silver ribbon added those touches.  The lace and background adding a vintage touch since I knew she was going to be wearing her grandmother's wedding dress.  The colours are taken from those she used on her invitations.

We had a brilliant day and I have never seen two people smile as much as the happy couple did on the day - long may those smiles continue!

Find Out About Friday - Two Punch Tricks

For this week's Find Out About Friday I am going to share two fun tricks with you can try with your Stampin' Up! Punches.  Yesterday I showed you this picture of a decorative photo corner.
How to create beautiful photo corners using the Elegant Butterfly Punch from Stampin' Up! by UK Based Demonstrator Bekka Prideaux - check her blog for lots of other great tips
So first of all I am going to show you how this is done.  To make corners like this you want to get your Elegant Butterfly Punch and put the corner of your card into it like this.

You may need to use your paper folder or something similar to ensure that the corner of the paper is sticking up as shown.  Carefully line up the sides of you card so that they are level in the punch and not quite touching the edges. When you punch down you will have a pretty decorative photo corner ready for your project.

And now for the second trick.  Earlier this week I showed you these cards (which are part of a blog candy give away so check it out if you have not already!).

Several people asked my how I created the layer behind the sentiments and this trick shows you how.  The images are from the Label Love Stamp Set and the punch I used is the Artisan Label Punch.  This picture shows you how it is done.  Click on the picture if you want to make it bigger.
