Scrapbook Saturday - The Lion That Watches Over Us

As a child I loved the Narnia Stories and so when I first came to the area I now live I noticed this lion, he kinda reminds me of Aslan from the stories.  He soon came to represent the end of long journeys towards home and I still like the idea that he is watching over us.

Sale-a-Bration Dress Up!

Today I am going to share a couple of fun and quick cards I made with some scraps that were left on my desk from a previous project.  I don't know about you but I don't like anything to go to waste, especially when it is pretty paper!  So I gave these scraps the Dress Up treatment - and what a lot of fun it was too!

All I had to add to the scraps of Island Indigo Card and Sycamore Street Free Sale-a-Bration Paper was the two card bases - yes even the ribbon belt on this dress is an off cut

I embossed the sides of the bases and added a sentiment from the Free Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set Feeling Sentimental.  I had a little accident and spilt something on one of them so added those small flowers!

That's the Ticket - Special Birthday Cards

I have had two very special birthday cards to send this week and now both have been received I can show them to you.

I had a lot of fun making these cards which feature some of the gorgeous stamps and embelishments from the Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue from Stampin' Up!  As well as the lovely Honeycomb Embossing Folder, these cards features the lovely More Amore Papers (those pretty die cut heats), some of the stunning lace from the Artisan Embelishment Kit, flowers from the flower trim and the fantastic That's the Ticket Stamp Set.  Here is the second one - can you sport the difference!!!

Scrapbook Saturday - All Those Who Wander Are Not Lost

A little while ago I decided that I would like to scrap some of my favourite quotes and I have finally made a start!  When I was looking through some photos I came across this photo and felt like just wandering off into the woods.  It reminded me of the JRR Tolkein Quote 'Not all those who wander are lost' and this page was started.

Find Out About Friday - Two Simple Ways to Make an Ombre Background for your Stamped Image

I love the current trend for Ombre Effects - where one colour fades into another - it can be soft and pretty or strong and striking but it always adds a beautiful twist.  I have made some cards featuring this effect and had several requests for instruction on how to achieve it.  Earlier this month I made a video for my newsletter subscribers showing them two easy ways to achieve this effect.  Since then I have received so many more requests that I have decided to share this video as this week's Find Out About Friday.
