We were treated to another wonderful hot and sunny day in Vienna, and were free to spend it as we wished. We choose to wander and explore this magnificent city. I love taking my camera for a walk and everywhere we looked there were wonderful sights and different styles.
We visited beautiful domes St Charles'e Church and I fell in love with all the decorations and details as oval openings took your eyes up to the incredible high alter and the amazing frescoes on the ceiling. Since they are currently being renovated we took the glass elevator and were able to view them from close up. I loved how the individual tableau's were woven together by the clouds. You could even see the brush strokes. Breathtaking.
We wandered on through the city to the Hofburg Palace with its imperial grandure
Eventually we made our way back to the hotel to get ready for the evening's Gala Dinner. All dressed up in our finery, horse drawn carriages took us to the Museum of Fine Art where we were met by liveried footmen. The building is incredible in its own right, with something beautiful everywhere you looked. We had cocktails in the lobby and made sure we took some fun photos before the Master of Ceremonies invited us up to dinner.
Look what was waiting for us.
The Master of Ceremonies then introduced us to some special guest who came to perform just for us - the Vienna Boys Choir. They were beyond amazing, such beautiful voices, it still makes the hairs stand up on my arms just thinking about it.
Before we had our deserts we were given another very special treat - a private tour of the galleries - where we were able to get up close to some incredible paintings by artists such as Rubens, Rembrandt and Caravaggio to name just three!
We were also given a sneak peak of an upcoming Klimt exhibition.
The whole evening was magical and I did not want it to end, but when it did there was a wonderful pillow gift waiting for me!
I feel so lucky and privileged - the idea that by sharing my love of crafting with you I get to experience incredible things like this blows my mind. Thank you for making it possible
