Scrapbook Saturday

Today I am going to share a Scrapbook page made with the kit from this month’s Scrapbook Club. I thought I should ease you out of Red White and Blue week and show you this one based on the scrummy Marina Mist Card.

The page documents my love of Lighthouses! I have used a black and white picture of a few of the Lighthouses you will find round my home.

Good Times Scrapbooking Kit
The panels by the photo were made by embossing more Marina Mist using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I have added a top note layered with patterned paper from the Good Times Simply Scrapping Kit.

Good Times Scrapbooking Kit
The Scrapbooking Club meet once a month and we do one taught page. I also show the lovely club members other pages made from the kit and they use these as inspiration for another page. Membership of the club is open to everyone, from those who are just starting scrapbooking to those who have been scrapping for long time. We have people who join us in person and people who join us by post. Membership costs £30 for your first month which includes a linen album (worth £23.95) in addition to that month’s kit, from then on the monthly kit costs £15 per month. To join the Scrapbook Club email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Right – I have to dash, I am going to lean about Block Printing – should be fun!

Find Out About Friday - How to make your own Bunting

Well for Prince William and Kate Middleton the big day is finally here! As well as being Royal Wedding Day it is Penguin Day, so hopefully you will be celebrating one or the other! Walking around the village you can tell that lots of people are celebrating something – there is pretty bunting everywhere – all Red White and Blue, so I thought for today’s Find Out About Friday I would show you a fun way to make your own Bunting with your paper craft supplies.

This project is as easy or as complex as you want it to be!

I found the easiest way to cut my individual flags or bunts as they are more properly known was to take a scrap piece of A4 paper and fold it in half short end to short end, and then fold it in half again the same way. I then used this as a guide to mark the card or paper I was using as my bunts. You then just need to join the dots and cut as shown below. This will give you three complete bunts per sheet plus the two end pieces which you could join to make a fourth.

Next you decorate as much or as little as you want. I have added a stamped layer and on some a scalloped border as well. Punch holes in each of the top two corners.

Then once you have as many bunts as you want all you have to do is string them together. I have used some coordinating ribbon.

Easy, fun to make and guaranteed to cheer up even the dullest corner. I hope you enjoy making some bunting and whatever you are celebrating today you have a lot of fun.

Make a Wish

Welcome to day 4 of my Red White and Blue week to mark tomorrow’s Royal Wedding. Today I thought I would make some cards that are suitable to give to men. I admit I am one of the many people I know who find it harder to make cards to give men so I was really pleased to see several stamp sets in the Mini Catalogue that are ideal for making cards for men, including two of the individual stamps. Sail Away and Motorcycle. Today is also a Thursday so you know that means there will be some Top Note Die action in here too!

Stampin' Up! Sail Away
This first card features Sail Away (Item Number 123013 £8.95). The beautiful image has been stamped onto a layer of Whisper White cut with the Top Note Die. I have then used daubers to add a soft sky and sea like background, using Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. The sails were coloured with a blender pen and Real Red ink.

Stampin' Up! Motocycle
The other card features the Motorcycle Stamp (Item Number 117657) stamped onto a layer cut from the large Scallop Circle Die and then mounted onto layer of Real Red Textured Card cut with the Top Note Die. I have given it a chrome finish using my platinum shimmer paint. Looks stunning but really hard to show in a photograph!

Stampin' Up! Motorcycle
To order either or both these stamps please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

There is still one post left in this colour themed week, and I have really enjoyed creating the projects for it, and still have lots of ideas left for another time. The question is have you enjoyed it? I would love your feedback and if you would like to see another colour themed week in the future please leave me a comment or email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk to let me know.

April Showers

Well after a wonderful weekend the weather here certainly seems to be heading for more typical April weather – gone is the glorious sunshine and back are the clouds. Mind you they say April showers bring May flowers and since I love flowers it can’t all be bad!

April showers are what inspired today’s post, the third post in our Royal Wedding Red White and Blue week. Lots of people are certainly hoping that there will not be any showers on Friday!

Stampin' Up! Ornament Punch
The umbrella’s on these cards were made using the Stampin’ Up! Ornament Punch. Once I had punched out the shape I then used a 1 inch circle punch to punch out the scallops at the bottom of the umbrella. The Ornament Punch does work wonderfully with the coordinating Christmas Stamp Sets (Sorry to mention the C word so early in the year!) but it is also wonderfully versatile so you can use it all year. There are more ideas on how to use it here and here.

Stampin' Up! Ornament Punch
Today I have used Real Red, Shimmer White, Pacific Point and Bashful Blue. The sentiments are from the versatile Curly Cute stamp set.
Stampin' Up! Ornament Punch

The hearts which are raining down are from the Confetti background collection of stamps. This set is new to me and is one I earned for free – how I love being a demonstrator! The only thing better than new stamps is free new stamps and as a Demonstrator I am lucky enough to earn free stamps. And that is on top of the many other great things about being a Demonstrator. If you would like to find out about how joining my team can help you earn your stamps and stamping supplies for free email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk and we can arrange to chat.

Daisy Daisy

Welcome to Day 2 of Red, White and Blue week here at Feeling Crafty. It’s hard to turn on the TV or open a paper at the moment without seeing something about Friday’s wedding, and it’s important to remember that there are other celebrations this week too.

Birthday’s for example! Today’s card is for a lady who celebrates her birthday today, and I hope she has a wonderful day.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Die
It features three daisies made with the clever Daisy Die. They daisies have been layered and shaped and then have had some dazzling diamonds put in the middle to add that special something.

The daisies have been mounted on the Pacific Point layer using dimensional foam pads so they keep their shape.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Die
I don’t know about you, but Daisies alway make me smile and I always want them to last for longer than they do in the vase. With the Daisy Die they do!

The Daisies Die is available for just £16.95 and when you purchase it from me email instructions on how to make these flowers will be available for you. To place your order email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Butterfly Congratulations!

It is hard to escape the fact that here in the UK there is a Royal Wedding this week! As well as there being a Bank Holiday today there is another one on Friday.  I thought that I would take inspiration from the Wedding for this week’s blog posts, so you can expect a week of Red, White and Blue Projects.

Today I have a set of congratulations note cards for you.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings
These cards feature Butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies Die. The bigger butterflies have been embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.
Baby Blossoms

The smaller ones are cut from Shimmer Card, I love the extra something that this card stock gives you. They have then been decorated using the adorable Baby Blossoms Stamp Set.

Stampin' Up! Baby Blossoms
The colours used are Real Red and Pacific Point.

I loved how this set looked, so I thought I would make some more this time using Bashful Blue and Pretty In Pink for a softer feel.

Just One More ...

For those of you who are celebrating, Happy Easter! For those of you who are not, Happy Sunday!

I have one more Easter Basket to share with you today.

Stampin' Up! Easter Basket
This is the one I made for my OH, don’t worry, by the time I gave it to him it was full of chocolates! I had to do the photo while he was out and it was before I had been able to get the fillings.

This basked was made using the wonderful Scallop Envelope Die from Stampin’ Up! I love this die as it is so versatile. I have so many ideas of things I want to make using it, does anyone have a spare few hours I could have?

Stampin' Up! Scallop Envelope Die
This basket uses four complete envelopes, which have been cut from Baja Breeze (love the colour and love how it feels to say it out loud!) They have then been run through the Big Shot again with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to give the lovely basket weave look. The box was then lined with envelopes cut from the beautiful cottage garden papers. You can save paper for another project by not cutting the bottom flap of the envelope as it does not show by the time you have put a base piece of card in the box.

Whatever you are doing today have a great day.

How about an Easter Basket?

I am really looking forward to this evening – we are having dinner with some good friends who we have not seen for a while. I wanted to make them a little something to say thank you for having us and since I am pretty certain they don’t look at my blog I thought I would share it with you today! If you are reading this and are expecting to see us tonight...

Anyway since its Easter tomorrow I thought a little Easter Basket was in order.
Stampin' Up! Easter Basket
This one has been made using the fabby (and exclusive) Milk Carton Die from Stampin’ Up! It has been decorated to match the eggs inside, Cadbury really are still my favourite brand of chocolate!

Now I am off to enjoy the sunshine and do some crafting!

Find Out About Friday - Charity Card Making Day

This summer Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators all over the globe are working together to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. This tragic disease has touched the lives of many millions of people around the world and most of us have friends or family members who have been impacted by this disease.

Our Mini Catalogue features the beautiful Strength and Hope Stamp Set which has been specially designed to support the fundraising campaign. Stampin’ Up! will donate £1 for every set sold to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I personally will match this with a further £1 donation for every set I sell. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation support vital research into the prevention and cure of this disease globally with several important research projects here in the UK. You can visit their web site here.

So how can you get involved?

Well you could purchase the Strength and Hopes Stamp Set from me, enjoy using it and then maybe buy a few more sets as gifts.

Or you could join us for a Charity Card Making Day on 21 May in Dunstable.

All profits from the event and a minimum donation of £2 per person who attends will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. During this fun packed day we will be making cards not only for ourselves, but also for local hospices and cancer charities.

Each participant will receive a Strength and Hope Stamp Set which is theirs to keep at the end of the event. If you already have this stamp set and let us know when you book we will arrange an alternative take home products for you.

You can join us for the morning (between 10 and 1), the afternoon (between 2 and 5) or come for the whole day. We will be making different cards in the morning and afternoon.

Light refreshments will be provided as will everything you need to make the cards, along with as much or as little tuition as you need. This would be a great event to bring your friends to even if they have never made cards before, we will make sure they have a lot of fun and enjoy trying this hobby of ours!

We will also have a raffle and a couple of other fun (and fund raising) games. Booking is essential to make sure we can raise as much money as possible.

The cost for the morning or the afternoon session is £32.50 and the cost for the full day is £47.50. However if you book before 2 May you can benefit from the early bird price of just £45.00.

You can book your place on the right hand side of this blog

I look forward to you joining us on this worthwhile, fun filled day.

PS We are looking at other dates and locations to repeat this event so if you have any requests / suggestions please let me know!

Easter Bonnet

I was recently asked what I do with my empty Stampin’ Up! Button Boxes. Well they have lots of uses, keeping daubers in once they are inky, holding part made bits to go on cards and projects, storing trimmer blades etc etc. The sometimes I use them on actual projects, projects like today’s offering...

An Easter Bonnet

Stampin' Up! Easter Bonnet
To make this pretty little Easter Bonnet I have attached the base of the button box (which I did wash out first!) to a large scallop circle of So Saffron card. This was cut using the Scallop Circle Die and then was run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to give the straw hat look. I then added a strip of card to the side of the box and another circle (cut with the circles die) to the lid. A Pretty In Pink ribbon and this cute little treat just needs some sugar eggs and its good to go!

Stampin' Up! Easter Bonnet
Now the challenge is not to just reach in and have one of those eggs! All supplies (apart from the actual eggs) are available from me – just drop me an email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Easter Treats

Let’s face it, most of us love to receive chocolate and sweets! With Easter this weekend I do have a few people I will be giving sweets and chocolate too, so I wanted to make a pretty container for the treats to match the Easter Cards I showed you yesterday.

With the Exclusive Milk Carton Die from Stampin’ Up! this was really easy! When it is made up it is just the right size for a few chocolate eggs and I think all dressed up for Easter it looks good too.

Milk Cartons Decorated for Easter
I stamped the eggs from the Natures Walk Stamp Set in So Saffron on Very Vanilla and mounted this onto a strip of So Saffron and added some Certainly Celery Ribbon. This was then attached to the die cut Milk Carton, cut from Crumb Cake, before it was assembled. The whole thing is then kept shut with one of these cute little Library Clips.

These were so fun and easy to make they would be ideal for mass production – I am even considering making some for the ladies who are coming to my class tomorrow! That said the class is all about using the Big Shot so maybe we will make them together ... If you have not booked your place yet email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk urgently – I have room for a couple more people!

Almost Easter!

It’s hard to believe it’s almost Easter already! The year is rushing by and its almost time to break out the Easter Treats.

Today I am going to share an Easter card with you – I don’t send as many of these as I do Christmas Cards (sorry for using the C word this early in the year) but I do have a few to send so I wanted to make something pretty and easy to reproduce. I wanted it to be pretty and soft so I went for my favourite spring colours, yellow and green, mixed here with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

Stampin' Up! Nature Walk Easter Card
The Eggs are from the lovely Nature Walk Stamp Set, which I am very much enjoying, and the sentiment is from the new Level 2 Hostess Set, Something to Celebrate.  To get any of these products please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Now I am off to make some coordinating gift boxes – check back tomorrow to see what I come up with!

Just Believe Card Class

I had a fantastic time on Saturday at this month’s card class. We were using one of my favourite Stamp Sets, Just Believe. It was such fun to design them as the stamps are so versatile. What is more they were great fun to make!  A big thank you to everyone who came.

Today I am going to share one of my favourite cards from the class.

Just Believe Card Class
The colours are Marina Mist and Riding Hood Red. We stamped using one of the Stampin’ Up! clear acrylic blocks to make the background. I love the random effect that this gives.

Next month our card class is going to feature the wonderful 2 Step Owl Punch. You can see the details here, and to book your place just email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Scrapbook Saturday

Last Thursday was this month’s meeting of the Feeling Crafty Scrapbook Club. I am really enjoying scrapbooking at the moment but found this month’s topic harder than some. Some bright spark (that would have been me then!) decided that the topic would be ourselves. Now I really don’t like having my photo taken so I did not have that many photos to work with!

Anyway here is the taught page we did

Good Thes Scrapbooking Page
The technique we were looking at this month was using Chipboard. One of the techniques that everyone tried was covering the letters of their name with Designer Series Paper from the Good Times Scrapbooking Kit.

Covered Chipboard Letters
We also used my new best friend the Big Shot on our pages, using the beautiful butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Sizzlet and the cunningly named Beautiful Butterflies Die.

Beautiful Butterflies and Beautiful Wings
I have two postal kits available for this months club – if you would like one please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Find Out About Friday - Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive

Happy Friday everyone and since its Friday it is time to find out about another Stampin’ Up! Product.

Today I want to tell you about a much overlooked but wonderful product that I think should be in everyone’s craft bag. Tombow Multi Purpose Glue. This amazing latex rubber adhesive has a multitude of uses and dries clear. It is ideal for sticking card, papers, chipboard and glitters (including the new chunky glitter glass). It is also Acid Free, so suitable for Scrapbooking as well as card making.

The little green and white bottle has a duel tip, one for precision placement of the glue and one to cover larger areas. The bottle may be little but it last for ages!

The glue can be either temporary or permanent. To use it as a permanently adhesive you stick the surfaces / glitter when the glue is wet. However if you let the glue dry before putting your two surfaces together you will have a temporary adhesive.

The Product number for this great glue, which should be a staple in your crafting bag, is 110755 and it costs just £3.25. Be sure to add some to your next order.

To place an order just email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

Happy Stampin’ (and sticking!)

What is it about Thursdays?

One of my Favourite Douglas Adams quotes is ‘I never could get the hang of Thursdays’ (OK for the Hitch Hikers Geeks out there I know it was Arthur Dent who actually said it!). I also find Thursdays a bit of a difficult day – they come around so fast and my to do list for the week is usually still way too long!

Tonight however is Scrapbook Club so I have something fun to look forward to!

Like last Thursday I am going to share a card featuring the lovely Top Note Die.  This weeks offering has lots of different textures on it. I love how the different textures add visual interest to the card.

Stampin' Up! Top Note Die
I hope you like it – I have to dash now and finish getting ready for tonight’s Scrapbook Club, For more information on how to join us either in person or by post email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk

On your Bike!

I don’t know about you but for some reason I find it harder to make cards for men than I do for women! Given that a good proportion of the cards I want to make are for men and boys I am thrilled that there are so many stamp sets that will make great cards for men in the Mini Catalogue. You can check them all out here.

Today I am going to share a card featuring the lovely Motorcycle stamp.

Stampin' Up! Motorcycle Stamp
I have gone for a vintage feel for this card and stamped this impressive bike in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. I have torn the card and mounted it on a layer of Cherry Cobbler which has been through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I love this patterned texture, it adds a lot of depth to the card.

If you would like to purchase anything from the Mini Catalogue (or indeed the main Idea Book and Catalogue) please email bekka@feeling-crafty.co.uk
